Relax, your opinion isnt laughable. I bolded out the parts that dont make sense and/or are wrong.

-The video does not have a point, the guy is a trolling fanboy who disregards everything what Gran Turismo stands for.
-GT has never had damage models because it was necessary to preserve excellent graphics, and that the game reads "The real driving simulator", which means its all about the authenticity of the gameplay. Crashes are the least of the objectives.
-Its not hard to code, it just comes with a price, interactivity means you have to sacrifice graphics(?) (and possibly authenticity of the looks, remember, they are pushing the visuals)
        -Car company theory was funny.

Can`t be asked to read the whole thread.
          Is the game any good?
The last racing games I played and enjoyed were Porche Unleashed, Rally Trophy and Toca 2.

This game is basically DiRT with more asphalt and less...um...dirt. At least that's what it feels like to me. I like it.

To be the real driving simulator you would need damage not bouncing around when you crash. a real driving sim does not rely on graphics alone as that is not a key part only the physics are.

Car Company theory as you say is no theory this was bought up a while ago to explain why a certain Racing game had no crashing physics and the reason behind that was the fact that the Car company did not want that to happen.

The video is may be made by a fan boy but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a point.

At the moment you are coming off as the fan boy.

                        Wrong. Oh so wrong.

Its all about the driving experience and NOT about wrecking the model. Do you have any idea how much resources you would have to throw in to create a realistic crash model? Especially when those resources are wasted, because noone needs realistic crash models. GT is all about the DRIVING EXPERIENCE. Crashes do not make games any more realistic. Want proof? Check MSFS series.

The video has no point whatsoever. Most obvious proof is going down Laguna Seca with a souped up Viper, anyone who says its "slow", is an idiot.

At the moment you are coming off as the fan boy.
Sorry, I just cant help but react to the ridiculous arguments you have.

If your talking about flight Sim the don't go there you can't compare.

When you Crash into a war at a high speed you are not expected to come off bouncing are you? No! your expected to have some damage even if a wheel is damaged it would effect the driving in some way not having damage of some kind in a Sim game makes it a semi sim game. The crash physics are part of what makes a game realistic especially when it affects driving.

                            I like Grid, I think it's a great game.
                            < /end statement>

If you don't like GRID you don't have to play it, but for the love of gaming please STFU with the fanboy crap. No one wants to hear someone flame another person because they think their opinion is better.

Now who's up for a game of 'big lips or bush?'

Actually, I can, since both are pretty much simulators. The difference between GT and MSFS is purely aesthetical. GT just happens to be in a shinier box. Both games“ goal is to provide a realistic flight/driving experience, which is what a sim does. Ive studied in flight school, trust me, crashing or the realism of a crashed planes image is NOT important. And a crash model of a car isnt either.

When you Crash into a war at a high speed you are not expected to come off bouncing are you? No!
In real life? No. In a simulation? Yes. Because a simulations main purpose is to simulate the DRIVING and not the CRASHING. Crashing is a purely aesthetical part and has no meaning. Hence it not being included, and the resources are saved for more important purposes.

your expected to have some damage even if a wheel is damaged it would effect the driving in some way not having damage of some kind in a Sim game makes it a semi sim game.
No. The game simulates the driving. Not the crashing. If youre simulating a car race for entertainment purposes, the "what ifs" arent important. MSFS has various damage simulations and STILL doesnt have damage models (at least prior to 2002). Thats because when it comes to a simulation, the visuals are not important.

The crash physics are part of what makes a game realistic especially when it affects driving.
Nope. Wrong. You dont need crash physics to make the game offer realistic DRIVING EXPERIENCE. Read the package- "The real DRIVING simulation". Not "The real CRASHING simulation".

                                That was rather pointless.

I wonder what it feels like to be a troll.
