The Game Trailers exclusive look at one of the new maps that will be featured in the downloadable content for console versions of Call of Duty 4 has now been put online. The map being showcased, which is one out of three that will be released, is called Chinatown. Chinatown is a remake of Carentan from the older COD games but now brought to modern times. As noted in the video, the map pack is expected to be released in Spring. Click the link below to check it out:

HAHAHAHA!!! I was JUST talking with someone the other day how I'm surprised Carentan wasn't in CoD4 b/c it has always been a great CoD map that people play all the time and then this news. I love it! :P Looks good. Don't worry people, we will get these maps also. I guarantee it.

I've also said that I believe these maps will come to PC eventually - maybe after Console gets them.

This might make some people feel better...a reply by 402 to someone on his blog website today:

We want to bring the maps to the PC, but right now they’re confirmed as DLC for Xbox 360 / PS3 and we’re looking at our options for PC versions of them.

Word, good to hear that. I can see the position they're in where they are charging consoles, but not us. I don't know if console gamers get as mad as we do when the 'other side' gets special treatment, but yeah...lol! I'm willing to wait a while.

They shouldn't charge consoles..simple as that. Why is every company out there looking to scam all this money? GH3..want 3 new songs? Pay $6.00 ... That's crazy

Now, if it's the doing of like those who run XBOX Live, than I can understand that but if InfinityWard/Activision is forcing them to pay for these maps, that's just silly. Where have all the game companies gone who actually care about the gamers, and not the profit?

You have to keep in mind though, if it's extra work that has been done since a game has been released, then the developer should get paid for it. It takes time and resources to create 4 extra maps, or encode new songs/animations - time and resources that are taken away from other projects. Charging a small fee isn't unreasonable.

I do think, however, that a lot of the fees for DLC are Microsoft's doing, and less on the developer/publisher side.

And a great way to make a lot of money by only asking for a few dollars from each person. For those who have a job, what is $6 to them? Not much, so they'll pay b/c they will easily get more than their money's worth and boom, more money earned without asking much. Now if they would want like $20, you take that $20, drive to the building where they're at punch them in the face and take your free content. :nod:

I would be willing to pay "IF" they add in about 5 or 6 of the best maps from the map contest. There are some player made custom maps that totaly kick butt! Round it off to a 10 map pack!
