Anybody in Australia that plays 2142 in Aus will confirm we get in-game ads... so either the law no longer exists or EA are breaking it. But not my point.

All the Asian counties don't have the law so why isn't gunna be released there does your country have it? Its not our government if it was we would be the only ones missing out it is in fact EA

I don't know what the motivation behind the law is, but I doubt that the government will change it just because some people want to play free online games.

As to why Asia in general is not targeted: Maybe because this is an attempt to introduce the micro-payment model to the west?

I did a bit of research, and it appears that BF2142 in Australia was target by the Spyware Act, so it was not because of the advertising in itself.

Technically it still is, AFAIK, there wasn't any significant spyware in 2142. Its been exaggerated by the act.

but EA/DICE Proved that 2142 did not in fact contain Spyware through ads so the same may go for BF:H

Once again, if EA/DICE proved there is no spyware in their games, why and how can the Spyware Act stop the game from being published?

EA is probably more worried about not getting any money than risking it being played for free.
Unless the Govt. clarifies that the act will not threaten their product in any way.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. The game is a relatively small project, intended to test play4free and micro-payments in the west where it is a rather new concept.

So that is why they are focusing their efforts on EU and USA. At least that would make sense.
