    That's why its free.

But FREE is a great word!!!

Also, the fact that it isn't BF3 is good, we haven't been let down, and anyone who's played TF2 will know just how good this game could really be
    that means KICK A**!!

      “Toonfield 1942”

This sounds like a response to all the people who enjoy playing infantry more than the vehicle aspect of a Battlefield game, make the maps small and compact to keep the combat action intense and the rounds short (10 to 15min per round). I’d go so far as to speculate that there won’t be any aircraft in this game at all, at least none that the player would be able to fly around the map under their own control, maybe an airstrike marker or something to that effect where an NPC plane drops bombs.

The only system in place for acceptable micro-transactions right now would be to use Windows Live and utilize the “points” system whereby people can buy the point cards at retail stores and use them to acquire items for the game.

Unless EA has their own system they plan to implement, I kind of doubt they’ll do that though. That said, utilizing Windows Live for their “Matchmaking” scheme would be a disaster even for a free game, just look at how bad it is for Gears of War PC players, maybe there’s a massive overhaul to Windows Live being worked on?

We’re probably also looking at 8vs8 sized maps, maybe 12vs12 max. I imagine there won’t be destructible environments like Bad Company is touting as they’re trying to keep the system specs low as possible, maybe Battlefield 2 like destructible (bridges and a few fences).

This isn’t Battlefield 3, I’m sure it will be a fun “casual” game to play but it’s a little unsettling for hardcore Battlefield players who want the sense of realism, large open battlefields, and full on vehicle warfare like we’ve come to love from playing true Battlefield games over the years.

I’m sure something along those lines is in the works.

If it's fun, has the basic BF-feeling and not reaching into my pocket I'll be playing it.. Well, I'm looking forward to this release!
.. I just hope it's not too futuristic and imaginary which is the reason I never bought BF2142

                              i think its WW2

I'm cautiously optimistic, and I will definitely try it out. I just hope the micro-transactions don't have a big effect on the gameplay, because I know I won't be buying anything unless I really, really fall in love with the game.
