i guess you found that comment hard to swallow.......Originally posted by [MyIS]AlexYes, that's your opinion, not everyone else's. Thus, you shouldn't bash a game or a developer simply because it doesn't entertain your complex mind.
its an opinion, my opinion. Its not bashing at the end of the day i think the bf series wont be the same by adding a kids theme into the game. had a feeling you would comment on what i said
dont take it to personally. not good to hold a grudge palComment

Aaaaand this is why I've not played an online game in over a year. No, it's not the games, like Battlefield Heroes. It's how almost everyone acts like they have the experience of a veteran game producer; One who holds a tremendous amount of stock in all the game producers and developers, at that.
Something happens that you don't like, and cries of "How DARE they do this to us!" bellow. You don't have some vast fortune invested into DICE, and they certainly don't owe you anything because you bought a few of their previous released works. Any money or time you spent was for a single product. I could be wrong, tho. If you all do happen to own stock in the company, then by all means, hold a shareholders meeting and make some complaints. :yay:
You also assume too much. Nothing is that obvious, and there is no way you could pull every single detail from a press release. I'm not defending anything, odds are you people are not going to have fun playing BF:H. You're not the target demographic.Comment

It sounds interesting but also looks like a TF2 rip, and imo TF2 is a much more fun game
I play Battlefield for some degree of reality, I might try this out however if there isn't some sort of ball and chain attached; and if the games main source of fun is CTDs, poor balance and a crap engine then its no

Sorry, Ive been p!ssing my money away on games that wont even launch properly because they were released at the beta stage.
My hats off to the people that do actual hard work. But I will not just nod and salute greed. Just because its tremendous work, doesnt make it OK to take the fans for granted and sell them out for profit.
And, its not like they do it to please Joe Shoeface from Ireland. They get paid for what they do. The best/worst we can do is to give feedback. And if the feedback or expectations are negative... well.
The difference between a company that cares for its customers and company that doesnt, is exactly it, how are the new products being accepted, anticipated. Thats the greatest feedback, and most accurate one youll ever get. If your games arent being anticipated with positive emotion, youve done something wrong in the past.
You dont see that kind of attitude from fans when MGS4 is almost being released. Or even when sidegames are in production.Comment

I kind of like the idea....
I don't really see why you guys are moaning about this, but first i could be awesome like BF2 but with the improvements of 2142. And second if you don't like just delete BF:H from your computer.....it's that simple.
Like some other guy said, they could let you pay to buy it for 40 bucks and leave you with useless equipement but you can actually pick out your own equipment to your liking.
You will always come out better, because you could download it for free and buy your stuff for below the 50 or 40 bucks mark rather then buying a full game for 40 or 50 bucks.
EDIT: And it's WWII too again, so that's a extra reason for me to try it out ( And please, dont come and say that WWII is out. )Comment

If they hadn’t felt the need to include the word Battlefield it would be quite different. Suggesting cartoons to a community that’s spent thousands of hours playing these realistic games isn’t going to inspire a great response. The wall that this idea bounced off must be on Neptune.
I think as a stand alone product it’s a great idea. I like the way it will be funded, I think the cartoon style will make it extremely entertaining, its plus’s go on and on. I just find it very unfortunate that the developers have such little faith in the idea that they sell it as being Battlefield. Why is this great game with fun at its core going to be associated and aimed at a community that talks about bullet deviation, j10’s, strategy’s, K/D ratios, etc.
Using the Battlefield brand is all well and good but when you ask someone what they expect in a BF game the last thing that they will say is ‘TF2 with some tankys and airy planes’.
This game is quite capable of standing on its own two feet without warping the Battlefield brand into something twisted and strange. It is more traditional to make sure the horse is actually dead before flogging it. It shouldn’t be some form of competition to see how many things you can prefix Battlefield or maybe…
Battlefield Baked Beans
Battlefield Bath Robes
Battlefield Bog Paper
Battlefield USS Nimitz
Battlefield Porn
Battlefield Biscuits
Or what if the Dice naming team went to work for other people
Windows Toothpaste
Dell Luncheon Meat
Celeron Border Control
Etc.
Heres a link for the Dice office http://dictionary.cambridge.org/ what you should discover is that there are many many words you can use to name something and that you don’t just have to slap Battlefield on everything. Please, if you have children don’t name them Battlefield, its just not fair. If your having a really mad day you can even invent your own words, like qwijitty or twunack- those ones are mine, but you can borrow them if you like.
Curses, thats only 343 words so i have another 600 to write before i can say it was easier just to post a picture.Comment

What am I bending over for? I'm not being steam rolled over by them developing a game I have no right to. I've not bought it. Well, I won't have to, considering the core game is free, but that's beside the point. In short.

Your unfortunate spending on shoddy products does not pertain to what this is about, either.
And you're damn straight they get paid. It's pretty hard for a company to "sell out for profit" when it has always been it's sole purpose to make a profit. It's not about just making enough money to get by, it's about milking it. Don't start on some noble ideal you seem to have about game development. It's a hard job, and daddy wants to the see the big bucks.
I also wouldn't dare call this flaming and belly aching proper "feedback", even though it does give a pretty good picture of discontent. Besides, they said it themselves. Battlefield Heroes is trying to grasp at the ever growing casual market. It's for people that want to sit down for 10-15 minutes, have a match, and move on. Most people on this forums are part of a more hardcore vocal community. This demographic has the ability to play for extended periods of time, sometimes competitively, along side extensive conversation on internet forums and chat rooms. There is a stark contrast. You're really a perfect example of who they are not catering this for; a senior member of this forum alone, active, with a post total of 5,274, 11.19 average post per day.Comment

Well I can say if I was one of the Dev reading the sh*t that is being said on here I would say two words First one starts with F and the last ends in U :) you get the picture and then cancel the game.
Judging a game before release is out right stupid I learnt that first hand when I judged QW's to be awesome I was wrong and totally disappointed just stop the freakin winging it FREE for god sake.
And of course TF2 didn't steal the cartoonish-style from the Incredibles I mean saying that would be wrong*insert sarcasm here*. In my opinion TF2 didn't own that style BF:H didn't "steal" it who cares really its free who give a flying f**k you don't wanna play it cause its like TF2 don't until more info and videos are released don't judge you will just make yourself out to be an idiot and a complete d**k to the people you were saying it to.
And I can see a DICE member reading now lolComment

I know a load of people that will love the fact that it is WWII, which is a good thing. If it takes all the greatness of BF1942/BF2/BF2142 and enhances it into Battlefield Heros. The Multiple Battlefield names are starting to get confusing maybe a name change to this one or the next title so the Battlefield name stays for the regular PC Battlefield 2, 2142 like titles. As the cartoon style kind of warrants a different name as the cartoon feeling is ruining what has made Battlefield what it is today.
If these micro payments are just for enhancing the look of the character then that will be good. Will this give me the ability to create pay content too?
Will the game be modable with excellent tools, as the Battlefield 2 Editor was not very user friendly and very buggy, with little to no updates are professional tutorials available in a crymod type formatComment
