Call of Duty 5 to be WWII?

Planet Call of Duty has posted an article today about a possible Call of Duty 5 WWII. Take a look here:

The rumor of Call of Duty 5 being a World War II title is starting to become more and more of a reality. VE3D reported that Treyarch is hiring:

Working experience with First-Person Shooter or Third-Person Shooter genres (console or PC). And if you’re a fan of World War 2 shooters, then even better!

This title is also rumored to be a flagship game for the Nintendo Wii.

Not a surprise to me since Treyarch were recruiting people for a future CoD game and it said in the requirements for map maker "Must be able to reconstruct historic maps from pictures" or something like that

This news has been talked about for a few weeks in the Discussion section, but FWIW, here's my take:

Treyarch makes Console games, almost exclusively these days. It's likely that COD5 will be just like COD3...set in WWII, and only for Consoles.

IW will likely simultaneously be working on COD6, which will probably be for both PC and Console.

PC users who miss WWII will probably be able to find a WWII mod for COD4 (from reading the IW.com forums, there's at least one group already working on one) to satisfy them.

Hopefully An Xpack will emerge because IW know the people want more more of IW and More of MODERN WARFARE not WWII I mean if IW did a WWII maybe it wouldn't be that bad but I like modern games better

Wow this is bad. Treyarch sucks at making call of duty games. Cod 3 sucked!!! They rushed it out and did not balance it or test it for that matter. They didnt seem to care. Theres was tons of bugs and even after release they didnt fix them. Cod 3 could of been a good game if IW made it. Screw cod 5 its going to suck everyone just keep playing cod 4. If you want ww2 which i like. Then make a mod for it. I really like ww2 when its done right.

IMO there are like only 4 good ww2 games that are worth anyone time. Cod 1 bia road to hill 30 and bia earnd in blood and a mod for bf2 forgotten hope. Thos are the only good ww2 games. Cod 2 sucks! cod 3 sucks every moh sucks. People would like ww2 games if there was better ones out there. If you are a hard core ww2 fan i suggest bia or forgotten hope. They are the best ww2 games out there.

Wow Treyarch once again there off on the wrong foot!!! Map makers need to make fun a balanced maps. Like carentan from cod 1 and dawnville for cod 1. Thos were great maps. Fun and balanced. Cod 5 is going to fail. God i hate treyarch so much. IW should just sale the call of duty name to treyarch and start a new game that they and only they own thats called charlie oscar delta. They allready have the .com name and theres allready like 10 cod games out. Time to rename it. WW2 games a fun if there done right. Cod 1 was great. Then cod 2 sucked because they changed the gameplay and it did not fit a ww2 setting. Now cod 4 fits the gameplay and its really balanced and fun. Cod 3 was buggy unbalanced. It was a pain to connect to games and i have a great connection so that should never be a problem. The animations where glitchy and it just looked like it was still in a beta form.

NO ONE BUY COD 5. It will be very bad trust me!

No!!! They have the right idea by making a modern combat game here...keep it. If cod 5 goes back to WWII then lets hope more mods are going to be created to keep the game alive and modern.

Yes but the only problem is it will most likely be console only and if not then the pc version will be most likely just a port.
