I was looking forward to this for a long time but I most likely won't log many hours with TF2 just out COD4 coming and a wack of single player titles it doesn't leave much time for a bf2 mod

so what your really trying to say is too little too late huh?

or were you saying unless this thing comes out in the next two weeks they may as well give up?

I believe he meant the former. There are a lot of highly anticipated new games coming out or have been recently released, both SP and MP . . . TF2, UT3, Crysis, COD4, and SoF:Payback. Frontlines: Fuel of War is also in beta, so I'd expect an upcoming release for that too. Those are some massive titles to compete with for gaming time. I'll own 3 of those 5, plus NFS:ProStreet so until I've played those for quite some time, FH2 will wait.
