Wow. The current civilian implementation is horrible. People who play civilians jump around you and try to run into your line of fire, or crowd around the insurgents, or crowd near objectives which need to be blown up. I fail to see the realism, if any civilian was doing this in a war zone, there'd be no problem if they happened to get shot doing this stupid ****. I hope people get tired of being civilian, now it seems half the insurgent team goes civilian...

If you're a soldier on ground and you see civilians near the ammo caches, just knife them.

That'll be the problems western soldiers have to deal with every day in places like Afghanistan and Iraq (not classed as warzones officially). Not exactly *jumping* round you, but they are still a HUGE factor in opening fire on any legitimate target. If civvis go down, you can bet your *** there'd be an investigation by the Military Police at some stage.

Plus you have the people who have never played the Open Beta who are getting to grips with the new build, or just plain being a pita

hehe playing Civilian gets a lil boring after a while.. just people checking it out right after the new release. Putting an unarmed class into a first person shooter is obviously an experiment that will take some time and learnings to get tweaked correctly.

What do we have to do to make a local server for us to practice on? Requesting kits without certain number of squad members, no time limit between requesting, short spawning time, etc. I'm guessing it has something to do with the configs in python\game.

If you just fire up a local / lan server PR uses the config file "realityconfig_private.py" in /mods/pr/python/game/.

You can edit this file to whatever configuration you like.

I'd like to see us make a lil configuration applet or the like, just never gotten around to it, so for now it's a text file you can edit with notepad or some such.

First let me say that there has obviously been a ton of work done on this MOD and it looks great. I really appreciate the work that all of the members of the MOD community are doing.

But, I'm not sold on this one. I did try it out and have to say that it is just too complicated for this casual gamer. There are too many of the 'you have to do this to make this happen in this order' and 'you need this many in a squad to make that happen'. Also, the time that is required to actually capture a flag is so long. I foresee many stalemates at the very first flag, since they are "required" to be capped in a certain order. Also, the different kinds of penalties for doing something wrong just baffled me. I guess that I just like the original game play the best, more straight forward.

These are just my opinions. I hope that other more hardcore players enjoy it.

Yeah I love playing as a civ too, however I think that the insurgents should get something for picking up British kit bags! for every 5 picked up I think a destroyed ammo cache should re spawn randomly somewhere on the map or something
