it didn't seem so bad at first..but when I get told I have to allow basic admin rights for this guy or whoever to monitor the server, that became a blow off to me. Unless your helping to fund the server or your part of my clan then no go on that. I'm sure its easy enough to monitor stat padders on the server its streaming to.

Requirements
root python permissions(<bf2-server>/python/bf2/stats/)
dns redirect by server admin, or permissions to use a custom executable
finally, if bf2cc is installed, a basic admin permission for me to your server to have server deal with padders automatically!


if its discovered that your server is used by others for padding stats, there banned, if you use it for that, i disconnect your feed!


dont be turned off, but i hate noobs and other stupid people who would love to use this to cheat up there stats! it aint happnning here!!!!!


if you cant meet the 3 requirements at top then sorry but its not possible to rank your server!

so if a person doesn't allow one of these things then you can't have your server "DCON Ranked" thus you lose another advantage (not as much as the regular EA Ranked Symbol) to the server that others seem to have.
Ohh well so much for community support.

Everyone, I honestly think this USI vs DCon pie throwing contest should end now!!!
We almost have the same Goal and Agenda.

For the sake of making something really great for the community, my personal thought, is that we should have joined forces loooooong ago. Because unfortunately, the small mod-community in BF2 is not big enough for 2 such similar mods. But remember, I am not speakin on behalf of DCon now, this is just my personal opinion.

We almost have the same Goal and Agenda.

Last time I checked, the goal of USI was not to bring back the spirit and gameplay of DC . Unless USI has changed goals, then the mod's are taking a completely different direction are they not? Which is why I've never understood the whole DCon vs. USI thing anyway...

I am so damn sick and tired of listing to the same people complain about the same crap every day. This is such BS most of you guys complaining here are not interested in supporting the mod unless you can host a server where you can control the environment and the players so that it suits you and that is just lame as hell grow up!!!!<O:p</O:p

I have tried to approach many of you about working together to support this mod for the community as a whole and based on the replies I received back, I am quite confident in saying that most of you have no interest in seeing the mod do well unless you can have the control necessary to satisfy your own selfish ego.

I have to ask if this is not an ego or control issue with you guys that are complaining all the time on the forums then what the hell is the problem. Why is it so difficult for us to work together to support the mod for all? I have approached many of you asking if you would be interested in working with me to support the mod and basically you spit in my face because the truth of the matter is that you don’t care about supporting the mod unless you can satisfy your own ego and control the players like sheep so that it suits your interest.

Be honest, this is not about supporting the mod for the good of the community in general. It’s all about bragging rights as to who has the best server with the most traffic right?...Now be honest. Quite frankly I don’t care whose DCON server I play on provided some *** hat admin is not telling me how I have to play the game or there are not a bunch of self indulging rules set forth by a bunch of ego maniac clan members trying to control the gaming environment so that it suits them. If that is the type of server you want then do the rest of us who support the mod for the community in general a big favor and just setup a private server for you and your clan mates and stop complaining because you can’t sheep oh I am sorry I mean players on your sever to control.

Either become part of the solution by supporting the mod and not your own self interest or go find another game or mod to ruin before you screw this one up so bad that no one wants to play it anymore. we do this for fun dont we?

normally I wouldn't bother posting in these threads but I just wanted to point something out re: servers....

now I dont know what sort of setup/deal the other server ops have, but a friend of mine own a server here in NZ ... he paid a little over $3000 for the server and pays about $120 a month to have it hosted at an ISP (all in NZ dollars)

so that leads me to my question ... if someone has put in a similar amount of cash into thier server, then why shouldn't they be able to dictate terms of use?

@ Catia - now I realise that you will probably take this the wrong way, but have you taken the time to read your replies and realised how inflammatory they tend to be? If you wish to do "public relations" then you maybe should consider learning how to relate to the public.

I think everyone needs to take a breath and step back a little rather than fueling the fire and turning this thread into another bunfight as most of the previous threads have tended to be...

and BTW, the opinions stated in this post are my own and nothing to do with the mod i work for.

well were near 5 pages of posts.. LOL yea.. pass the tylenol dude.. I honestly dont care how each server is ran by the admins.. If I like the server I play on it.. if I dont like the rules I dont play on it.. Either way people will play where they want.. I dont think server admins should be told what they can and cant do with their boxes.. they pay for them. Most of all this is exactly why stats are evil and why stats are the devil.

My two cents of veteran BF moder, take it or leave it :evil:

Back in the begining of Time there were two mods about the Somalia ordeal, CIS and BHD, they were all day and night long flaming each others. It was a hell of an entertainment for everybody, haha, but this was what it happened:

CIS released one or two alphas, no sucess
BHD didn't release
3 years later, suffering both mods a painful lack of devs they merged together, the logic move
BHD-CIS released first version, no sucess at all, it was too late
Dead mod, R.I.P.

They lost strenght in useless fights, didn't make the logical move, to merge two mods with the same theme, join force and brains, kick a first solid release early and build fast a good player base.

All this stops here. End all the flaming, all the stupid comments about what ever mod. If you don't like a mod, great news, don't start stupid little flame wars.
