Awesome now maybe they will actually fix some of these bugs like the helo lag in SF. I know I bring that up everytime but I want it fixed, and the mis-fire tv guide bug... or better yet MAKE the tv guided missile ground only .

well i stopped playing bf2 a while ago now :|:
simple fact that the maps r boring now,they need 2 bring out more maps 4 ranked or even let custom maps be played on ranked

Lots of people jumping on the DICE bashing bandwagon, pretty funny as most of you wouldn't know where to start on a project of this magnitude.

Be grateful that BF2 was supported for as long as it was. Oh, did I mention the 2 free maps too? yea, they didn't need to add those in either, but they did!

Still so much that could be done.........North Korean booster, tweeking of the kits, Little birds that spawn on the opposite end of the carrier on Wake, Chinese urban infantry map, unlockable handguns for officers, pick up kits on maps, hand held AA and some minor bug fixes......

Why would we interested in a project of this magnitude, why would you mention this ? We are but paying customers for a game WE/I paid for.

We deserve more than a half finished game with so-called two free maps, BTW wake is a re-make from BF1942, hardly original, and Jalalabad was sponsored by someone else. Plus the amount of money for ranked servers, and upgrading machines for this game - I personally spent £1500 for a new rig -

The game is about promotion, unlocks, does a game like this need expansion, eh ? Of course, that implies promotion and unlocks needs expandability, we are what we are, we are always striving for more, and if we strive for more from a game like this, then we deserve it. Well, we did pay for the vision before-hand with glitzy screen shots and promotional videos.


Two whole months of unplayability with a fooked up patch ?

Do I personally feel cheated and betrayed, erm...YES.

OMG look every one, they really do care, they have reciently updated there "Message from EA" window when you log in about a new stats browser on there site! Wow, thats just what we all needed, I feel soo much better now.

Not exactly.. Dice were bribed into making Jalalabad by IGN IIRC.

How has anyone not noticed that EA/Dice didn't care sense the beginning of BF2?!
EA/Dice has never listened to the BF2 Community ever sense the BF2 forums have bein' up. Have they ever listened/posted to any threads talking about what is still wrong with BF2? never
EA/Dice though that BF2 would just be like all of their other games like Madden and all the other sports games and it would die out in about 6 to 7 months, But no, that never happened. So what did they do next?
Make about 10 patches that fix/break each other, so that no patches truely fix everything, Make 3 Ex packs for all of us to buy and give EA/Dice more money, In turn, giving us another 7 new unlocks, 12 new ranks, and about 6 new awards we could get, and finally, Moving onto 2142 when BF2 was still going strong.
Long story, short: EA/Dice= Rich, Gamers= Pissed off
Has anyone seen the amount of posts that Dice posts on the 2142 part of the forum? They have posted more then they ever had with BF2. Why so?
What makes 2142 different from BF2? Other then being in the future with only 2 armys and different weapons/vehs and only 1 new game mode.
2142 is just going to end up like BF2, they are going to make some more Exs to it that no one will play and 2142 will die out pretty quickly.
I aguee with MANFACE, We had to deal with 4 patches that were SO BAD that mostly everyone hated playing BF2 altogether and We couldn't do anything about it until a new patch came out.
I am also going to blame some of the BF2 Community for what happened with BF2.
For one thing, Why didn't anyone take a stand and talk to Dice, person to person? I know it maybe a game, but still Not one of us had to deal with what was going on.
Another thing, Why won't anyone talk to dice NOW!? Get them to open up BF2 to the Mod Community, so that the moders have more to work with and make great mods.
Lastly, Why didn't we talk to Dice about protecting BF2 from Hackers and Aimboters? All the hacks and aimbots got through punkbuster with BF2, so BF2 was never protected the right way in the first place. Also, the thing with Knife and pistol servers. Dice NEVER said anything against them or get anyone in troblem because of them. All they would ever do if someone was playing too much Knife and pistol is just PB them from BF2.
Well, after all of this, BF2 is ok for the time being, but the BF2 Community has to stand up for it's self and be counted.

I can with good conscious say that we are still supporting Battlefield 2 and no other decision has been made.

FFS DICE do you really expect us to believe this. Where is the evidence that you are still supporting BF2? There is none, nada, zilch, nothing. If you were still supporting BF2 we wouldn't need you to make a statement "claiming" you are.

"With good concious" If they had a conscious we might actually see Colin or another DICE live team member on these forums once in a while. Not even a boo in the server owners lounge where they atleast know they can come in and say hi without getting their heads bitten off from the BF2 community.

If you are still supporting BF2 how about you announce that another patch is in development to finally fix the problems that have existed from day 1 and to fix the other problems you have created from patching aka the J10!

The only people who are still supporting BF2 are the server owners paying big $$ every month to provide servers to the public for free only to get abused by players and called abusive admins. If all server owners pulled the plug tomorrow, lets see how many servers there are available provided by EA to support the players. Oh wouldn't the players have a huge cry then. :nod:

well Clan servers are already beginning to switch over to other games, but which new release will convince them all to ditch BF2, no doubt people can give a pretty accurate guess already but we dont know until they get released

If they really want to save BF2, they need to eliminate the ranking system so the stat whores get tired of playing and stop scaring off new players (and old players that aren't so "leet" with their skills) that are getting slaughtered by them because of their 40+ hours a week that they dedicate to gaming in a quest to increase their "rank". Then the mods will get played and it'll breath new life into this game. On the heart monitor of gaming, BF2 has a shockable rhythym and needs a jolt from the AED.

But the Destroying the Ranking system destroys the whole game for everyone. If there are no ranks or awards, the game would just be boring and you wouldn't be working torwards anything.

Tell that to the hundreds of thousands of people who played Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, and the many mods for BF2 and BF2142. Intelligent people don't need fake medals and ribbons to feel good about themselves. Eliminating the rank system would be awesome - in a single sweep, you can prune out all the idiots like Eye here who play for nothing but ranks, leaving a smaller player base of people who just want to play for fun. They can then all enjoy the game and get a taste of true teamwork, not hampered by little 10-year-old Jimmy and his buddies who teamkill for jets because they have to get that aerial excellence badge.

As others have said though, rankings are going to be kept for a long time to come because of the steady stream of income they provide from the extra ranked server fees. And that's business.
