Let's be real....supporting BF2 doesn't SELL more copies of BF2. They have sold 2+ million copies. If they support 2142, they can still sell more copies of that.

What I find incredibly mindnumbing is that they never learned from the DC model. That's right...DESERT COMBAT. Do you know how many copies of BF1942 were sold just so people could play DC????????

and also they dam well better bring out a patch or give me one dam reason y I KEEP LOSING CONNECTION TO TEH SERVER!

i think in their mind rank brings more income than mod support, just look at the server prices still. they took advantage of dc and never looked back. im telling you, their whole rank system completely wrote off pretty much all mod players, no matter how great the mod might be and they knew it would too.

its a damn shame since over 50% of the current dice employees all started in mods, youd think they would stick up for the mod teams rather than help close the doors on them but as the saying goes, money talks and bullsh!t walks, they are all expendable and they know it so rather than speak up they play follow the leader.

The only mod support we will ever see is perhaps if a mod like FH2 starts drawing in lots of players and EA learns a way to make money from it by implementing a rank system or some bs like that so they can call it their own.

Agreed. Mods don't support their ranked server partners. It would be nice to see TGL support mods in comp.

BTW, I would have paid 9.99 for POE2.

I was having major problems with this in 2142, I pm'd [DICE] CKMC and they were taken care of! Not Sure if he is a member here, as he is one TB 2142, but it is worth a try

I'm not sure how to interpret DICE's comments - are they willing to say that a 1.5 patch is in the pipe? Are they about to release a mod dev pack? If not... guess what - there's no support.

Hmm I need plenty of support now. My BF2 DVD basically exploded in my Dvd drive today All I noticed was a little hair crack in the DVD, but didnt think it will burst that easily.
At least my DVD drive still works , although there are still some parts stuck in there.

Also as far as I remember OPK mod was the only mod that got advertised in this popup screen within the game. But that was only for a few days. All they care about is advertising for their crap extension packs.
I got Special forces and this european forces extension pack, but to be honest I only played it for 5 min. All mods I played so far , were much more fun.

Wow damage control, to protect sales of ranked servers...It has already been known by alot of modders that EA won't released an MAJOR update for awhile now. They may release some patch to fix some bug no one cares about like the awsome

The stats servers are still running, so technically they can say with good conscience that they are still supporting the game. Doesn't mean we'll get a patch.

hehehe, sounds like damage control is on the warpath for the sales dept and public relations. lets see them put their money where their mouth is and work on a new patch and give these mod teams the well deserved mod spotlight in game pop up they PROMISED them over a year ago.

i trust EA about as far as i could throw them, and they have the final say, not dice. they couldn't keep their word on the mod spotlight, opting rather to whore out 2142 so why should we believe them now. hey i hope they prove me wrong but id much rather see them support the mods, this late in the game its what will keep the player more than a patch will.

your cd exploded. lies. plastic doesnt do that unless containing compressed air. and you didnt enjoy SF? what do you expect if you played for 5 mins. i take it your one of those people that turn a film off after 10 mins if they havent seen what they wanted or dont understand it

I second that. If they arnt making money then you wouldnt have ranked servers. You know the money to upkeep there database for the ranking system has to be a large figure, and im sure the High prices u pay for a ranked servers trickles down to EA.

Like others have mentioned here, its a little to late for Ea or Dice to try to save face.

"Word of mouth" has pretty much done the damage. I know Ive told at least 24 people over the last 3 mths not to buy the game, but wait till it hits the $9.99 bin at BestBuy which isnt that far away now.
