Well, I really love this mod, the only thing I hate are the planes... the A10 and Frogfoot are completely useless, because it's too easy to shot them down. The F15, F18, Mirage and the Mig are the new noobtubes. I don't know what to do, I got shot down too often... in the "normal" BF2, I lose 1/50 dogfights, in Dcon 1/10... so hard. :S Every rocket hits me...

Lol, I was going to say the exact opposite just now.

The Bombers are bad ***, almost too bad ***, but not quite.

This mod is even better than I thought it would be. I can kill people with my M16 and AK from several buildings away. The Jumping doesnt seem to stop it either, I will be a ground pounder again.

The maps are kick ***, and this is by far the best mod I have tried for BF2.

See you guys on the killing fields. Domination mode is friggin awesome, can't wait to try the rest. The Arty too, friggin awesome!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick question while I'm still downloading the mod. Does DCon still have all the BF2 maps in it? If it does I recommed taking them out because noob server hosts will just run the BF2 maps and not the good maps like EL Almein and Gazala.

Also its to bad the mod isn't on ModJive, its a good Steam like program for Mods. The only thing is the download speeds are kinda slow at time, whens the FileFront intagration coming?

It's an okay mod, but it's not what I expected as a Desert Combat vet. Just because it's a Desert Combat mod with throwback gameplay doesn't mean it needs throwback graphics (the shaders and the skins were kinda crappy on weapons bunkers, the stuff seems too lit up, idk) and Vanilla BF2 weapons. Alpha or not, I'm pretty dissapointed.

Well, we cant please everyone. If ya saw the credits we have only one skinner so that limits us on how much we can get accomplished in the texture department. We were more concerned about getting it is as bug free as possible and release in a timely before the thousands of other fans had our heads. This release isnt final and we look forward to everyones input for our next release.

Dont feel bad, I am still getting used to the planes as well..just takes some practice. Frustrating I know but practice makes perfect.

You ever played the BF1942 version of DC? This sounds exactly how it should be to me...I'll see though when I get to play.

After a year and a half I expected more. Its really just new maps. Weapons havn't really changed and too many of the same vehicles. I will play it some more, but it isn't as good as people made it seem.

The stupid thing is, that u get hit by the rockets in DCon too easy... that's my opinion :S

Just a little plug.. FLOT's running a d-con server with only d-con maps, no vBF2 remakes, mixed modes with Conquest, Objective and Domination. Check it out. It kicks butt!

sounds like I have found my game :)

I fly jets in BF2 about as well as a soggy stick with a turd on the end sailing through the air....so not being happy with the jets, not an issue.

I can at least keep the choppers in BF2 level and not sideways (though always entertaining to see 2 ppl get in a chopper, start up and sail backwards and explode). I will miss the finesse it took to fly the DC choppers, those things really DID take a bit of skill to fly but I was pretty good with them. I'll give these a try.

Now the tanks, arty and everything else that throws small volkswagons at the enemy is calling my name!

This has been the longest work day I've ever had. :cry:
