bf1942 took years to patch.
get a grip seriously, or just go away please, because theres countless and pointless posts in here just hogging up space, that we, the people who are interested in the game have to wade through.
Go play CS , it's probably perfect for you.

I think complaints against the game and company are deserving when the game is a year and a half old and has become even more unstable with each new update. It's expected for a game to be buggy upon release since that's how the industry goes and it will probably never change. The only thing you can expect in return is for prompt patches that fix the bugs and iron out the gameplay kinks. But if a game takes years to patch, and if you think that's reasonable then you have mental problems. I think it's wrong to say the game sucks, since the game is good but the bugs, crashes, poor gameplay tweaks, and tweaks that were never implemented but should've been have sucked out its potential. And instead of patching and improving the game, most of the resources were shifted towards making a new game. I won't be getting BF2142 because of the lessons this has taught me. I even tried the demo and wasn't impressed and the game managed to piss me off right away with the poorly handled account creation.

Oh dear, like I said in my post, yes it is dissapointing, but not that dissapointing! You'd think it's the end of the world the way you've written your post. :|:

I don't often like to agree with the "anti-whine" people on here, because it is our right to make fair and justified criticisms of the game (shame it doesn't always work like that though, but I speak for myself), but in this case I do side with them. People are going totally over the top here. Yes it's a large downlaoad, but in my experience you're better off downloading the full instead of the incremental, even EA_UK Protagonist said it himself;

"Oddly enough, there was a client-side issue which was contributing to server crashes which this patch addresses. The patch is a large one because it is the full patch rather than being incremental (which had an issue during testing meaning it had to be reworked) so rather than delay the entire patch prcoess to fix the incremental patch, the decision was taken to release the whole patch in one hit."

"The incremental patch should be the nice and simple way to update your game, however history dictates that with BF2 that's not usually the case."

Also, I disagree with the comment that "whinners" can't complain but still enjoy the game and therefore, F off back to [insert game name here, CS, 2142, etc], inferring that you have little skill, or the game is simple, and suited to you (HA!). I am sure 99% of players have at least one thing they hate about BF2 that could be changed/fixed. Does that make you a whinner? Are you then not allowed to play the game because you supposedly hate it that much? Or.. do we criticise because we love the game, and want it to be perfect?!

You're kidding yourself if you've never found something irritating about this game, and muttered it under your breath, or agreed with a "whinner" on the forum, or spoke to your RL friends about it. You are a true "fan boy" if you believe you haven't, and you're lying to yourself.

Holy crap I can't believe how much people are bitching about downloading a patch that takes 15 minutes to pull off of a server!

You guys must be the same group that plays on your 128K DSL and whines about lag in the game because your ping is 300...

Try this - start the download, go take a crap, and by the time you're done it should be finished. Oh, and don't expect EA to be there to wipe your butt for you too.

Has anyone else encounted lag with this nerw patch (1.41) me and some of my clan mates have encounted dogy lagging since the update, despite our pings being in the low 30's

Issues were spotted with it, and EA have decided to work on fixing it, but release the full patch in the meantime rather than totally delay the patch release.

Personally i would use the full patch, i know it is big, but generally there are far fewer issues than using the incremental patches.

You lot are a load of winey babys. You ask for patches and support. you ask for them to actually 'fix the game' and the bugs in spesific and guess what? They DID.

Download the fusking patch and get on with your lifes, crying about how you have to download 512mb off the internet is god damn stupid!

pfff yea...stupid update...why dont they stop with those and just give us one propper update that wuld last for a while, insted of shoving a new one down our throats every so often

and the game still crashes...when you wanna swich teams and the autobalance dosent let you...or when punkbuster decides u have a too high ping, it just throws you out of the game completely
