so the patch takes a little time to DL, quit your bitchin because you know you will still play the game. EA/Dice make games to make money and if they want to put some advertisement in thier product they can do what they want. If you don't like it go play WOW or something EA doesn't own.

soon there will be nothing EA doesn't own,1st the game companies, than wall-street, and last but not least the government!! i better get out my Y2K stuff again

What's funny is that if you search these forums for past patches, most of the time people recommend you download the full and not the incremental patch! A lot of people have associated their issues with incremental versions of patches. So stop your whining... /me ducks for cover

Having said that, you really can't help but laugh that only one issue was resolved in the patch. This looks like the last patch for BF2. I don't really care to be honest. I'm enjoying what I have right now. I won't buy 2142 not because I'm anti EA/DICE, but I don't like futuristic settings.

PFFFT!

After Downloading this rediculously large patch.. although it was fast only becuse I pay for the account on Fileplanet.. The bloatware Patch won't install saying it can't find BF2 installed on my system.

I chose to install BF2 onto another drive so the default path is not C:/program files/eagames... it's G:/program files/eagames... either way it wont even allow you to change the path for the installer, it just crashes with an error.. What a freaken waste of my time.

First EA puts out a lamer update to EA Downloader (which I will never be stupid enough to use again, all games will be bought via retail chains).. which chose to remove all my previous downloaded content.. all patches betas etc.. were gone and on top of that I had to re-install my games since it removed my keys from all the EA games I had installed..
Then they put out a massive patch that doesnt seem to show much of anything and they couldnt even take the time to make an appropriate installer for those with an intellegence level higher than a monkeys thumb that allows us to select a path for install.

Get with it EA.. this is getting rediculous and to think I supported you against all nay sayers and helped to beta 2142 and on top of that pre ordered it through EA Downshredder and never got what I was promised for pre - purchase.
Which reminds me that on top of all this, I can't even use my BF2 name for the veteran program.. it just wont work.

Im throwing my hands up.. Im in IT management and even this much hassle is getting to be too much for someone in my line of work, let alone some poor kid who buys these games and expects to be able to install and play.. lol good luck.. he first has to become an expert in the process of BETA testing for EA then installing patches that in all honesty wouldn't pass the scrutiny of my Grandmothers bridge playing club.

Im almost ashamed to say I play this game anymore or the fact I bought thier newest 2142 title. Slowly my adoration of bf1942 is getting ruined and all the fun times of modding such a wonderful game is going down the drain. I wont even get started on that aspect of anything later than 1942.. said support for modding is almost a thing of the past.

Not going to download 500 MB plus for one little fix that has never affected me... they need to tell us WTF is in this update.

Im going to wait for an incremenal patch

If there is one thing I have learned since the first BF2 patches, it is: Never download incremental patches for BF2, or any other EA game for that matter. It always fux up.

this update is ****...when i wanna go on servers i used to play it says i cant, that i have an older version, when i just updated to 1.41

and it installed some ****ty server thing which i dont even want

you gada be kidding me!!! again half a gig to download???? only for 1 fix?? do they think that we are so crazy??
i do not belief that this super-puper 500 mb pach will fix any problems as usual.
even if it downloads with speed 500 kbs i will not download it and non of my friends will.
the only good thing here is to wait for an other super-puper #1.5 which will be 1 GB and "fix" all new old problems.
