the 1.41 patch dosent give any significant change...other then screwing up your video settings to default again...stupid

Im going to wait for an incremenal patch

why would you be interested in using an incremental patch? have you learned nothing in the last year of using BF2 incremental patches?

ONLY INSTALL FULL BF2 PATCHES. Incremental patches from DICE/EA should be avoided like the plague. I'm guessing they realized their own shortcomings, and that's why there's only a full patch available.

PFFFT!

After Downloading this rediculously large patch.. although it was fast only becuse I pay for the account on Fileplanet.. The bloatware Patch won't install saying it can't find BF2 installed on my system.

I chose to install BF2 onto another drive so the default path is not C:/program files/eagames... it's G:/program files/eagames... either way it wont even allow you to change the path for the installer, it just crashes with an error.. What a freaken waste of my time.

I installed BF2 in G:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 and had no problems with any patches, mods or this patch.. Try downloading it again or maybe there is another problem with your current BF2 install..

I do agree it seems like a waste of band width at 536 mb, but thats why I wait till over night to download, not that it took that long..

wait if this is a patch for server's why would we (client people) have to d/l it than? couldn't ea just make this server fix patch compatible with the 1.4 patch since it's only for servers?

alot of moaning and bitching going on in here about the patch, it fixes some problems people have been having and yes it is a full patch but the way i see is that that EA is trying to get everyone in the same area with patches as just doing incremential patches are not as effective as a full patch. why complain so much your getting lots of entertainment for your money arnt you?

Side note:
Whats better? In BF2142 you have to play a while until you are "privileged" to throw any grenade. Not to talk about being privileged to revive somebody or being the lucky sombody to be revived by a privileged defibrillator owner....

So please, go play your crappy BF2142. We will se who laughs next after 1.05 for BF2142 is released. And to quote some german comedian: "In a democracy you CAN have an opinion that you CAN notify publicly but you doesn't have to."

Actually the first three unlocks which happen really early you can get nades, defibilator and something else. Plus you get additional abilities like sprint, extra health for your character upgrades.

You do know you can switch kits with the 'G' key and use 'privelaged' guns in other peoples kits; just like you could do in BF2 for privelaged kits. Same thing its just not everybody in BF2142 is a medic like in BF2 so it makes it interesting to have a variety selection of kits to choose from.

Emm a German comedians quote thats a good one; so I guess CAN notify publicly but what the hell does that have to do with anything that was being said earlier.

As usual EA pale in comparison to the likes of Valve, Epic Games, id Software, THQ, et al.

I don't care how many people are purchasing 2142, I want excellent gameplay and will be getting Frontlines: Fuel of War. Created on a very mature engine which is driven by an excellent developer, Tim Sweaney.

The reality is that EA do suck in so many ways and those who don't put up with bollocks and want better will go buy other games - like me :)

Even with all the supposed hassle with steam I've never had to download so much in patches for all my steam games together (this new patch bringing downloaded patch total to >1.5Gb). It seems however people are going to apply the patch regardless so it seems the consensus has taken precedence. I'll download it overnight.

Ok, I have downloaded this patch twice now. I try to join a game and it tells me I have an older version. So, what's up with that? What am I doing wrong?

I actually wanted to buy 2142 on release because it looked like a good game and there were alot of bug fixes from 2142 open beta to 2142 demo. Now im seriously doubting getting the game even for christmas, the stuff EA has done is just amazing. If they dont release a incremental im probally not going to download. Theres a ton of good games out there that dont get all the attention they deserve looks like I MAY be moving over to those. That reminds me, how can they justify $60 for a game? If you look at the prices for the BF series, you can see it going up and up. Im not sure how much 1942was but im guessing under $50. So lets see BF1942 > $40 > BF2 > $50 > BF2142 > $60. Will we see BF3 for $70?

I can go out to bestbuy right now and get 2-3 games for $60, *sigh* EA you have seriously ****ed over your customers.

EDIT:

Forgot to add, EA is making MILLIONS of profit from the ingame ads and yet the price of the game is still going UP.

bf1942 took years to patch.
get a grip seriously, or just go away please, because theres countless and pointless posts in here just hogging up space, that we, the people who are interested in the game have to wade through.
Go play CS , it's probably perfect for you.
