alot of moaning and bitching going on in here about the patch, it fixes some problems people have been having and yes it is a full patch but the way i see is that that EA is trying to get everyone in the same area with patches as just doing incremential patches are not as effective as a full patch. why complain so much your getting lots of entertainment for your money arnt you?

My educated guess is that they added 400mb offline ads to the game with the latest patch.

Can I still play PRM 0.4 with this patch?
If not then f*ck the patch, don`t have any problems with crashing anyway.

EA will continue to do this to the BF franchise.
I will not, ever buy another BF franchise game from EA/Dice..
Sports titles maybe, but I am done wasting my hard earned money, on full version betas, at $40-50 a pop.
No damn wonder their own employees are sueing them for slave labor practices, and they still cant release a respectable BF title.

if so what server crashes, i aint had one since 1.3 ...

and i aint sitting for god knows how long for 0.5gb. i'v always used incrementals and never suffered a problem ever.

It's the usual same whinning little girls who say the same thing over and over; nothing seems to have changed when I came back from BF2142. Hey its free to complain.
Too bad the whinners can never enjoy the game and the rest of us in the packed servers with thousands of players are enjoying it.

Wow BF2 seems so much faster moving now and tossing grenades is really interesting now as compared to 2142; almost feels like CS for a little bit.

That is so funny that AbblePC guy above; what a nutcase that has to explain that much just to get his point across. You are obviously the worst head of an IT department head I have ever seen and I hope you never come across a problem at your work.

AbblePC you are very naive to attack the whole game company because you installed it in a different directory and now you cannot customize it to get the install right. I don't know whether to laugh at your stupidity or warn your employeer that you are incompetent; you obviously have changed the default directory and is no longer handled under offical support.

EA Link worked fine for me and I downloaded the patch in 15 minutes; maxed out my 8Mb down.

Too bad you probably hopped on the bandwagon also for BF1942 when only Desert Combat came out; the mod took awhile to develop and really didn't show any progress till after 1942 had been out for awhile.

Whats better? In BF2142 you have to play a while until you are "privileged" to throw any grenade. Not to talk about being privileged to revive somebody or being the lucky sombody to be revived by a privileged defibrillator owner....

So please, go play your crappy BF2142. We will se who laughs next after 1.05 for BF2142 is released. And to quote some german comedian: "In a democracy you CAN have an opinion that you CAN notify publicly but you doesn't have to."

i ran a diff from 1.4 public to 1.41. their "changelog" is really incomplete as usual.

- the transport helicopters usthe_uh60, the_mi17 and chthe_z8 have had their hitpoints increased by 35%.
- there are two new "taunts"

all mods working in 1.4 should work fine with 1.41 unless the bugfix interacts badly with them.

PFFFT!

After Downloading this rediculously large patch.. although it was fast only becuse I pay for the account on Fileplanet.. The bloatware Patch won't install saying it can't find BF2 installed on my system.

I chose to install BF2 onto another drive so the default path is not C:/program files/eagames... it's G:/program files/eagames... either way it wont even allow you to change the path for the installer, it just crashes with an error.. What a freaken waste of my time.

have you tryed creating a BF2 folder at C:/program files/eagames/ and letting it just install there, then copy the files to your install location overwriting whatever is changed?
this has worked for me in the past but i dont know if it will for this particular situation but its worth a shot.

as others have stated it is better to be able to get all things in one patch but i see the side of people that are still on dialup or limited bandwidth per month as well.
i personaly like a all in one patch and always go full patch when they come out so it doesnt bother me that this one is so big.
its just the couple small things that are addressed in this, it seems pretty crazy but meh i dont play alot and im just glad they are still patching :)
