You're taking my comment, and [MyIS]Spetsnaz's, far too seriously, =DNC=SySeX73. I just said that I think (me, no one else, my opinion) that this could should be picked up by a publisher, and released retail. Of course, I doubt that will happen, I'd be pleasently surprised, but until that time it's all dreams, and speculation :)

Just thinking out loud. I know the Trauma studios story, I don't know the in's and out's, but it all seems a bit fishy. I'm glad they're still kicking though, making their Unreal Engine 3 game, Frontlines Warfare.

You are SO right. Imagine how great FH would be if they had access to modify parts of the actual engine code! Oh, the things they would do!

The engine code? I cant wait to play FH2, but its taking all the serious MOD teams a really long time to release, which tells me that its a nightmare of sorts behind the scenes. I feel for them
The engine is locked down, and I doubt that the code guys would really be able to get deep into the engine code and do that kind of work. I dont know too much about such things, but that doesnt sound like an easy task.

If the guys at FH actually got a development deal, I would hope it would be on a better engine, with no affiliation to either EA or DICE. There are lots of companies, and lots of investors in this world to want to join that group.

I know all this talk about them going to work for an actual game is nothing more than jokes and the like, but if we sit down and actually think about it; do you really think that it would be a good idea?

I mean think about it, these guys will be plagued with unrealistic time contraints and also it wont be FH anymore. Most people play FH becuase its more difficult, less n00b friendly, yet games like BF2 cator to the majority. So in return for acces to the engine Dice/EA would make FH change its gameplay to be more easier so more people would be able to pick it up and play, therefor losing the essence of what makes FH so popular turning it into another generic ww2 shooter

and than ofcourse it would probably be ranked

Seeing as the Trauma guys were dudded out of about 200,000 dollars, I dont think they got what they wanted at all... Dice ditched them and didnt have to pay the final payment as a result.

But it is too bad that all these great mods (especially this one) will never see the light of day on my computer because 2142 will be out by then and everyone will just forget about BF2 eventually. I don't think there will ever be a total conversion for BF2, this is all screenshots and renders... and HOPE!!! (hey the name ties in :p)

Not trying to cause a stir, but all these beautiful unreleased mods is just getting annoying

Never see the light of day? DO you even think before you post, lol. The only thing annoying most of us are posts like yours. Notice how most people are giving nothing but praise and excitement? We wont miss players like you who dissapear, your not part of the target audience anyways.

There is a very large group of people who will never be playing 2142, or quake wars. I still play Tetris all the time, its a classic.

I havent played bf2 for a long time, and I will almost surely never play a game of 2142, unless someone buys it for me, lol. I still play DC regularly, none of the new mods will take that ones place. Including my own, which hopes to capture even some of that glory.

i got to say, the art direction on this thing is brilliant. looks like an old time movie/storybook, gives it a really good "classic" feel.
