A new infantry only map would be really cool, as it has been somethign many people have wanted since before EF. Of course, EA didn't care and gave two mediocre booster packs with mostly vehicles. AF is cool, from what i heard, however.

And hopefully EA will get it right this time!! All these god damn bugs and glitches and it is a YEAR after it came out.

Sounds nice as long as they fix numerous connection/server crash/etc
problems that 1.3 crash directly caused.

balance/fix list
-server browser
-red/blue tag
-CLAYMORES NEED TO BE SET OFF BY GRENADES!
-eng should be able to disable all three explosives
-sniper/spec ops should be able to pick up thier explosives
-FLARES SHOULD WORK!!!!!@!()#!@*&$!!!
-aa missiles should hit the j10 when its in a corckscrew
(the aa problem cannot be solved by editing the perfectly designed handling characteristics of the jets and missiles. the problem is that the missiles fly right up to the engine of a hard turning j10 and break away, and that aa missiles usually fly right through flares to get to thier lock, especially in the f35)
-fix the minimap and spotting (i get a yellow enemy on the minimap when i spot him, also most of the time spotting doesnt work correctly)
-people can still jump duck and prone shoot to an extent
-give ground aa a better chance by giving them a lock when in visual range.

Well they have been developing 2142 for both PC and XBOX, BF2 has been totally changed to work with XBOX, they have been real busy, and BF2 has already sold its share.

If they need help with CTF, lol, JK.

I read in an interview once that they looked at the popularity of CTF in 1942 and the numbers weren't there.

I played CTF in Tribes religiously because it was a fast paced game and the whole jet pack and skiing really added to the sport like feel to it, I just can’t go back to the old on foot CTF gameplay.

of course they have to release a patch to fix the last patch and to screw up the new one...i have a feeling vehicle drops are going to be nerfed big time.

Well I don't see how this would work as a "game mode" for all maps unless you want a long swim from the carrier. Even on Karkand it would be a long trek to some flags. They must be limiting this mode to under 32 person maps or something.

Well, they have the vechile drop feature in the game, so it would most likely be infantry and jeeps. Unless they totally remove ALL jeeps, and you must ask your commander for a vechile drop.

i think it wil be interesting if they do work out an infantry only stye for game play. I mean imagine the fire fights from building to building, alleys and suburbs. But c4 cars or APC's camping a spawn. I think it could breath new life into some maps... and others it could be fun to utilize parts of the map that are never played. ie Daqing oilfields.. the closest flag near the PLA airfield and im not talking about the power plant. it has the helo pad and the tank and AA spawn. ANYWAYS thats a cool little village that rarely see's action either you get a car or tank cap the flag and leaves or someone trys to cap the flag and a plane bombs the crap out of it.

Overall i see this helping the idea of capping flag and then protecting it, rather than zipping off tot he next flag to cap. People might not want to run so much so they will defend ... which at times is very important.
