I knew that new patch will be, because they need to fix 1.3 patch's bugs :laugh: (they are experts on that things [patch fixes patch]).
I am very happy that second free map is going to be here too... and the infantry only ... my favorite I was thinking when they are going to do only infantry map [after SF expansion pack] (without planes and helicopters, maybe with only two tanks or APCs) and my dreams is going to come true :).

Thanks EA/DICE for choosing to release map without taking moneys from us. Good work to you!

yeah if i wanted infantry i play css

if they gave us 2 versions for ranked a infantry and regular with tanks etvc

Ya if they introduce infantry only, then that's just sad. BF2 is all about vehicles, not just infantry battles. If you want that, go play CS. I'd much rather see CTF than infantry only...

And why are they adding content to the game? They should be fixing the damn bugs, not adding more stupid stuff like vehicle drops.

ya'll complaining are going on my newly compiled "boob list".

cs is lame and bf2 inf combat is nothing like it.
personally, i wouldn't trust EA/Dice to do CTF, as it would be buggered to hell.

Of course they would "bugger" it, but, when I'm a little tired of playing ET:QW, say-about a year from now, I could fall back to BF2 CTF and see how well it has been patched up. :p

It wouldn't bother me to get a free map out of the deal. Infantry only? I'd try it. Looks like it may be a server setting? So only transports are spawned during the game?

I'm not a modder, but doesn't it take some time to make a map? Just the raw time to design, model, texture the map not counting the playtesting it needs. I'm pretty sure it would take some time. Perhaps some modders could comment on that.

I'm thinking they had some previously unreleased maps that "didn't make the cut" in the original, and they might be fine tuning/fixing for release in a new patch.

Thoughts?

And in 'no time' having an endless list of maps? I don't think so...

Your right man, hope they make this map really good, and not some single sided battle, that will end up in either side spawn killing the other.

My gosh people....it's a game mode. Leave the infantry hard on alone. If you don't like it, stay on regular servers. You act as if they are going wipe out CQ and make it INF only....not the case! There are plenty of people that think vehicles spoil the game and it doesn't make them CS noobs! I for one may fire the game back up as a result of this unoffical news. Having a choice is a good thing and a smart decision on EA's part. There is nothing wrong with catering to a few different styles of play. Like it or leave it, it's your choice.

I think one by one, they will release patches and boosters that take map, vehicles, and weapons ideas directly from the work of MOD teams.

I just hope the patch comes real soon and there is in fact a new map, that's free. Anything else is just icing on the cake
