Nice to see the MYIS guys getting such a great deal from EA, guess that ROE crap worked out better than even you guys thought it would. Way to use the community towards your own greedy ends. I wouldnt rent a server from you fags if you had the only servers available.
The reason for the huge price gap (50% off) is because they know this game will be **** and they want to get some $$$'s before anyone realizes it.

Yeah new games suck why would you buy games that are new? I mean Quake Wars, I know absolutely nothing about, aside that is an Alien vs. Mankind game with vehicles and BF2142 is a Man vs. Man fight for the world with cool gadgetry but what do we really know about it... I think I am going to boycott getting new games altogether and move on with my life, I mean it's crazy to follow a series devotely because people berate and belittle them all the time cuz' they want something new... Damn progress!

Most of us at MyIS have already taken the game for a spin. It was a completely different experience than what BF2 is -- and it was still in pre-alpha stage.
Then again, you'd probably expect us to say something like that :)
I suggest waiting around for the demo and giving it a try. If no demo is released, I'm sure the reviewers (total2142, gamespot, gamespy, etc) will pick at the game and let you know what is what.
I'd just like to point out that this nonsense about it being the same engine is just people trying to sound like they know the 'industry' (or just complaining for the heck of it). Anyone who is even remotely familiar with the game industry knows that engines get reused many, many, many times.
In fact, there are developement studios who exclusively create engines to sell for hundreds of thousand of dollars to the game developers who actually create models, textures, sounds and additional code to make the game work.
Engines like:
Half Life
Quake
Doom
Refractor
Unreal
etc..
Are used for MANY games. Americas Army is run on the Unreal engine. Global Operations was run on Refractor.

Problem is, the BF2 engine is a buggy piece of junk. There are loads of problems with it (rockets go through tanks, having to knife someone 5 times to actually HIT them once, terrible performance for some people with 7900GTXQRZY cards, the list goes on).
If they switched to a new engine in BF2142 or made a totally new one, I would certainly buy it. But from what I have seen in BF2, it looks like it'll be very disappointing.
Have you guys started presales of QW servers yet? Now that's something I'd definitely be interested in. :)

wow...alot of negativity on this...i for one will buy this game...remember bf2 was the first game to introduce a ranking sysytem online with stats...alot of bugs and issues were to be expected in my opinion. i say give the developers and ea a chance...bf2 has a huge learning curve with this ranking system...im totally confident they will learn from the mistakes that were made with bf2 and make the changes in the next series of games to come....for the better.
and i think myis does a great job and is not out to "use the community" as someone posted above.....keep up the good work guys...i for one look forward to any type of discounts when availiable.

Quake Wars looks like a poor man's wanna be Battlefield game, sorry.
I'll give the demo a whirl, but I doubt it'll be anywhere near as good as BF2/2142
24 players max compared to 64 players just kills it
They are still not sure if it will be 24 or 32 players, either way the game rocks as I have played it! Anyone who has played it will say the same thing.
