It was reported today over at the Alternative Battlefield Ranking website that Dice and a number of mod teams met in discussion to improve current issues. Here's what they had to say:

As a direct result of our petition, and the efforts of concerned battlefield 2 community members, dice was prepared to meet Team ABR and some other modders, to discuss our concerns.
For ABR this is a very important step to get clarification on the 'Ranking Deterrent' and to the future of our project. Furthermore this talk also gave other modders the opportunity to have things discussed in their benefit.
On the content of the conversation, we cannot publicly speak, so you all have to be patient on what is about to happen, in the mean time, have to deal with the official response.
Organized from ABR Satcom, some mod teams had a meeting together with John Hargelid (associate prodicerfrom Dice). Included mod teams: OPK, BF1918, Project Reality, USI, Paintball, EoD, Desert conflict, Defense!, ABR.
The talking ground happened on the BFMeeting Teamspeak Server. We talked together nearly 2 hours, asked questions and gave info to Dice. Was a very nice evening and hopefully a good step in the future.
