I Have Reverted To 1.22 And I Am Having 1.3 Problems Loggin In And Even Getting Bf2 To Run Also.

It Seems The Devil Is Amongst All Things Bf2!

I have just read that other people who installed 1.3, and then reverted back to 1.22 are now having problems with 1.22 that they never had with it b4 they installed 1.3. Has 1.3 bastardised my whole BF2 game top the point where I am going to have to aggresively remove every file connecteds with bf2 from my PC and start again?

When you say reverted, do you mean you installed the 1.22 over the 1.3? If so, that wont work, you need to reinstall bf2 to wipe 1.3 totally.

No no mate, I uninstalled bf2 totally and reinstalled everyhting right back up to 1.22. but have been having some pain in the arse problems getting the game to even load and then having some real long waits to get logged onto server. Just heard from mates though that they have had similar problems with loggin onto server and none of them have touched 1.3 as a result of me warning them to keep well away from it.

Going to have to find another game to be addicted to likes...this bf2 malarkey is just way too much bother.

Taking the caveat, that I am only speaking for myself....


This patch is crap.
v1.2 was fine on my machine. Now I have server lists that are inaccurate, don't show players at all, doesn't update right, weapon switching doesn't work.

Well I have owned BF2 and SF since march this year and loved the game.
I patched to 1.3 last night and including download time on my poorly 1MB connection was up and running in 15mins.

I admit thare are a couple of issues with the server browser but it still works and loads fine. And judgung by the thousands of people who seem to be on the servers, it looks like a case of it doesn't work for a few.

Maybe than just getting angry and blaming everybody but yourself, you just talk with each other and try and find a commanality between your systems which may explain why your patch does not work? Download site, patch type, motherboard gfx card etc.

Here's an idea set up a new thread for system specs for people with broken version?? I mnean Jesus it's not hard.

Why not instead of saying "oh my god ea sucks the big one I hate them etc etc, they actually start a logical thread describing their problem and asking for help, I mean the one dude that was bitching about his ATI card having something to do with its not working is an idiot, I have the EXACT card he does and it works fine. Everyone is just to quick to jump on the EA haters band wagon while they log thousands of FREE hours of playtime.

Yep but I only recall having this problem since v1.21. Im pretty sure that 1.2 was fine and smooth for me.

Can anyone tell me whether there are any or plenty of ranked servers left hosting version 1.2?

If so I'm going back.

We won't patch until either we forced to, EA fixes this patch or TWL approves (our ranked and match servers are on the same dedicated box).

So if you are not patched come on in, the server is jumping.

Oh it you again. I thought we did the math. I agree it was not my ATI video card. Cuz i had to uninstall my bf2 and install it again cuz of this pice of s**t patch. We do agree that this patch is a pice of s**t. Oh that Right it worked for you. You love this patch. Who's d**k have you been sucking to get it to work. I have every right to Bitch. I gave EA money to play the game. That dont give them the right to f**k it up on me. I did not put that patch out. You did not put that patch out. wootoow, graphguy, MatTheCat, sweet69 they did not put that pice of s**t patch out. No it was EA. So I blame them. They suck, and you suck for not seeing that there IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS PATCH. And i laugh that they just think its a browser problem. god why does it hurt. since i've installed 1.3 my frame has gone from 50-60 to 25-30. what do i have to do. and why is it talking so long to login. i can't believe that there are that many people playing bf2 after all the bug introducing fixes...

EA Needs to chill out with the patches. Instead of releasing one nearly every month and screwing up the patches they should wait to make sure there are no roblems with the earlier patches. I definetly need to down grade to 1.22. The problems I am having are: 1 It takes a rediculously long time to find only 500 servers when before the patch I could get the full 2000 and up in a matter of seconds. 2 Login to the account now takes around 3 minutes. 3 When I join a game and it is loading all of the server settings say zero i.e. map rounds:0 friendly fire:0 all of the settings say 0 so things can get a bit confusing.

This is new from the community update. Check it out as it relates to server problems.

PocoLoco my long post was not meant specifically to help you. I had the same fn problems with BF2 the last time around and I am not even trying this again. I give up! My game plays alright now, and plays some of these new mods nicely. I will play on the old servers or hopefully keep playing mods (I see the article pointing to a lot of new ones). But I'm not even downloading 1.3.

So good luck with your probs, I have no doubt you are trying everything. My last post was just trying to get some positive replies on what ELSE works with the BF2 game now that 1.3 is definitely not going to work for a lot of people. Or what other games people are playing. I'd never heard of Frontlines, so thats good to hear about. The mod community is not happy, the players are feeling 0wn3d. We gotta find something that works.:|:

And WTF happened to ASE? They used to maintain their code to keep up with versions of bf2, but there is not even a v1.22 selection in there. yahoo! basically has ruined ASE, at least for BF2.
