Would love to try this mod out, but everytime, "does not matter which map" When the map gets to 12% load BF2 crashes to the desktop. Any suggestions what to do? Thanks

It needs optimization, too many polygons in some vehicles and statics (collisions also)

Was this directed to me. If so it does not optimize until 62% load. I don't get that far. Its when the map first loads does not get past 10-12%. Then it crashes to the desktop.

If you pull the plane forward, or any vehicle for that matter, another will spawn in a minute's time as if the server thinks the original crashed. I was going to fill up the runway with spawned planes and take a pic but I couldn't get a third to spawn.
Yeah, as someone else said, its probably not a bug. There's a piece of coding that allows you to have a vehicle spawn more than once, like the landing boats on destroyers in bf1942 would spawn thrice without any of them having died. I wish more mods would use this, actually, as most just resort to huge numbers of sitting vehicles.

Any suggestions to my problem, really want to play this. I tried to uninstall and re-install, didn't work. Says the opk_unistall.exe has been changed or removed. Which I have not.....????

Edit, I just re-installed over it. Lets see what happens

Edit#2 Ok, that didn't work, still can't load in a map, and still can't proper uninstall this mod. This is really disappointing

I'm guessing that you're trying to play single player? You have to play multiplayer. Try going to multiplayer and choose "create local", choose a map and move it over into to the box on the right, then say join server. If you still crash then you've got a weird problem I can try to help you with later on. (Or anyone else here really).

The intelligence factor of a few of these posts indicate thier age.
This mod has a ton of work to be done, and sugar coating a review is something that appears to be common on this site. Reading a honest review with Hard facts is something worthwhile. I just hope to read that review soon.

This mod was rush out of the door to be first and it shows.

I am not trying to play single. The first thing I did was try to creat local to check out the maps with out anyone killing me in multiplayer. Didn't work there so I tried to join a server. Crashed there. Don't know. Cant un-install this mod either.

Edit.. I do not know, this is a long shot, but I guess I can try to re-boot my PC and see what happens.

Edit#2 Didn't work. I looked more closely to where is crashes everytime. Do not know if this helps but at 14% map load everytime.

You obviously didn't read the review then my friend...

If you did however read the review, you'll notice that at the ending 4 paragraphs, the first starts out with "It's not all roses though, and there are some things I'd like to point out so that you don't enter the game with too high an expectation and get frustrated."

Now maybe it's just me, but I didn't know lines such as that could be refered to as sugar coating a review. Both positive and negatives were listed in the review, and for being one of the first major mod releases, OPK has done a very nice job with their mod. With having such a great first release, it's safe to be optimistic that this mod is very promising.

So before you post or bash against our reviews, please atleast read them and post something constructive if you're going to post.

                        Just as a side note.
What was the mapper thinking when he created this map. Sure its beautifull map with a great design and flow to it, but having this many flags on a map this large is utterly useless.
This map is a misguided method of punishment for anyone who plays this mod. It deserves to be renamed Operation Fool The Flag Tagger.
Next time there is a review of a mod, please have one that is objective and points out the good and the Bad.

To run a server do I just need the server files or the whole mod and server files?

Depends if you want to run a server people can enter or just a local server.
