seems like everyone got 4. i only got 3, and all were giberish. the only legible part of it mentioned something like a MIME Embeded Gif or something. and for me it was my email address i used for both here and bf2s.

        Gasp!
One has just reached my hotmail account :S Only one though.

Hey everyone, I am writing to inform you all of some very ... Disturbing news. It seems like everyones \"favorite\" hack website ( http://www.**************** ) Has released a BF2 aimbot and the commander hack is back also. There is a way however to spot enemys using the aimbot. If you see a player get 3 or 4 kills in a row with a rifle/pistol, try and watch them very closely. If they are looking through walls and ammasing massive kills its most likely they are hacking. Remember, the only \"perfect\" anti cheat is having a admin present at all times. We all were ignorant for thinking that client hooks and aimbots would not touch BF2, when it has become as popular as it has. This was something that was destined to happen, so Please prepare yourself. There are movies of this aimbot out, so watch them and get familiar with them, so you know what to look for. Here are some links to the movies. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...15404568905503 http://media.putfile.com/MSX-Video2222 http://media.putfile.com/MSX-Aimbot http://media.putfile.com/MSXVideo23_0002 http://media.putfile.com/pwnage5580 http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...41188840786715 http://files.filefront.com/MSXPJwmv/.../fileinfo.html http://media.putfile.com/MSX-Securit...arma---Video-2 http://rapidshare.de/files/16198731/...XBeta.wmv.html
Weird how that website is asterisked :O That maybe just the settings TBF2 have.

Also, if you can't help it, don't view any of the videos.

Its funny i was oging to post some discoveries on the other 'email hoax' post but it was deleted. Im not sure why, whether it was because it was kind of pointless, or that some trolls obviously joined to play 'what script kiddie is coolest'.

I literally went to 'the web site in question' to do a little research. Their video evidence is quite persuasive until you realize all the names of the players are in the same format as the bots in single player. 'T. Johnson' + 'D. jones' etc...

As for where these emails came from... powweb.com. .anyone know anyone hosted there?

Hmm, it is looking more and more like someone got our e-mail addresses through this site. I wish someone would tell us how it happened. . .

                  Re: Spam Email a Hoax

ok I’m a dolt... Its obviously from the guys at MSX, listed in the header, "msxbackup1co@clust07-www06.powweb.com" their backup server or something they registered at 66.152.98.76. It might be a good idea to block that address.

PLUS, my email isnt registered anywhere else, it MUST have come from here unfortunately. I think it might be a message board exploit that grabs emails from a certian place, this would explain why people got 3 at a time. As for the unlisted emails, maybe they were thrown in to confuse the issue, or how about the EA forums? I'm actually thinking the list of recipients was a combination of 2 or 3 emails lists; i doubt the member of this would be as transparent as to do otherwise.

sidenote: I received that email to an address that has never been used anywhere but to register in 4 or 5 BF2 related websites and I've never ever posted it anywhere nor have I anywhere activated "show email to public" in any of my profiles. :|:

yah, i just checked my email and came on here and found out you guys have been getting it too. I thoguht it was from TB2 or w/e and it was just random text and a link.

I got it in an email used on this site. I am not signed up on BF2S.com.

                        Well, that's a certainty.

My totalbf2.com registration e-mail address is unique to totalbf2.com. That e-mail address does not exist anywhere on the web other than in one of totalbf2.com's databases. Period. End of story.

Do I care? No, not really. First, it's just an e-mail address. Second, if I start receiving spam, I can block the address with a click of my mouse so that all subsequent e-mails are literally bounced back to the sender. (I actually enjoy doing this since it causes the spammer to end up spamming himself. :))

What I do care about is Gamewizard and MyIS's apparent nonchalant attitude about this (minor) security breach. :|: I just find it troubling, at least in principle, that Gamewizard/MyIS won't even acknowledge or admit that their site was compromised.

But again, since it was just my e-mail address that was "taken," I admit this is very low on my things-to-be-concerned-about list. :p

This is what i got. Im quite sure is MSX security Team publishing their software on a new way to attract us to paying for the cheating software.
