    Re: Rising Conflicts Mod Update

So... probably a stupid question but what do you use to watch a .divx file? Why on earth wouldn't you just make it a mpeg or avi?

Show me one mod that is entirely accurate to what's happening in the real world? There is such a thing as artistic license. It is just a game after all.

          F15I = 1997

          F16I = 2004

          A-10I = WTF?

F-4 = out of service 5 years ago

Israel wasnt intrested in the A-10 because the IAS is looking
for MULTI MISSIONS aricraft unlike the A10.........

I'm interested in where you get your information. Can I see where the Israeli government says all this?

A DivX file is pretty much a compressed AVI file. The raw AVI file was over 500 MB when I put it together. I didn't think anyone would want to download a file that size. The original MPEG file I had was still significantly larger than the DivX, so I went with DivX.

The F-16I delivered in 2004 was built on an airframe delivered in 1976, which means it's still an aircraft from 1976 ... not 2004. If the F-16ZZZ comes out in 2083, does that make it a modern aircraft or an update to an old airframe?

I said it before, "CREATIVE LICENSE". I think you are getting a bit stuck on what you "believe" (right or wrong) is the actual future for the IAF. Realism is not what the game (or the mod) is about.

                  Re: Rising Conflicts Mod Update

Its very hard to explain that to you because i see
things and understnad them like the militry unlike you....
F16I and the F16A are very diffrent.
F16 (the whole series) are bulid as a Multi-Missions aricraft.
the A-10 is bulid for one mission: Tank Buster. thats all
Israel unlike the US does not own so muhc money. so its
better for the IAF to improve what they have (like the F16I and the F4 2000 project) then buy old aircraft that were bulid for one mission.
if you still cant understand that so you need to join the Air Force and as.......

a10 is Close Air Support / Tank Busting.

And its very very good at both. It was designed with a high loiter time where as the F15's and 16's dont have long loiter times and require more tankings.

                      That's pretty presumptuous and arrogant.

I never argued the real world dynamics. I did say the BASIC airframes are the same as they were 20+ years ago. I also said we are using "CREATIVE LICENSE". Perhaps you missed that .... both times. If mods didn't use "CREATIVE LICENSE" they'd all be the same.

Some "military" experts critisized our inclusion of the Commanche because it was cancelled. Yet they ignored several examples of changes in military philosophy / spending. That does happen. I tend to listen to the guys on our mod team with 10, 15 and 20+ years of military experience whether its Navy, Army, Air Force or Marines (for various nationalities).

I agree with you that the likelyhood of the A-10 being purchased by Isreal in the real world is highly unlikely ... does that satisfy your ego? However, in the world of Rising Conflicts ... they get one.

                      *End transmission*

The IAF is looking for multi-mission aircraft like F-16 and F15, thats why we orderd a special variants of them F-16I and the F-15I...
any way the the A10 was brought into service in 1975......52 years (mod time line)
At the end of the Gulf War teh AF stated they were getting rid of them. The Army and Marine Corp both offered to take over all the squadrons. They aren't going anywhere in the US anytime soon. The F-16I and F-15I will not likely be allowed under the harddeck, which is currently 10k. The A10 can and is most effective there.

Try reading trade mags like Janes Weekly. They will usually have the most accurate information, more so than the internet. Also, Israel usually is very secretive as to thier plans. Although, as Hammer said, they aren't likely to use it since the tooling skills have been lost. But, creative liscense is a cool thing.

Also, I've got 25 years in the service. How long you been in? Not trying to be trite, just curious.

although 99Tarbox is right ( http://jdw.janes.com/public/jdw/index.shtml ), i do not entirely disagree with -|R³|-Malchi-IDF_FFI. jane's is definitely the place for well rounded news on militaries all over the world.
the a10 is gonna be outdated when some of the newer technologies begin to be implemented (*jsf-35 multi-role fighter and the F-22).

22 years from now, the skies will have to be more high tech than the a10's triple redundancy systems are now.

.divx files are just divx compressed .avi files. if you change the extension to .avi they will play on any directshow compatible media player (winamp, windows media player, wmp classic etc), provided you have an mpeg-4 compatible codec installed such as divx, xvid or 3vix, or using a program such as VLC.

for codecs i would recommend the combined community codec pack (CCCP):

(seems to be down at the moment, google for mirrors)

Yup. If you follow the industry, most of the manned systems will be replaced by UAV systems. The JSF will likely be the last manned fighter out there.
