You know that thing DICE said about the GL being primarily an anti-vehicle weapon?
Well, even after DICE fixed the firing lag in v1.22, I still find that I'm not destroying half as many vehicles with the GL as I used to in v1.12. Part of the reason for this is that I'm sometimes too close to the target and the grenade bounces off because of the arming distance. However, I've just noticed that the GL also does less damage to vehicles when it does score a direct hit.
Buggies are still destroyed with one grenade, so you don't really notice the change there.
However, I've often hit jeeps with two grenades and not destroy them. After testing it in SP, two hits with a grenade launcher puts the jeep's armor into the red zone but not far enough to catch it on fire unless it's already taken light damage (from small arms, .50cals, etc.).
I also tested the damage against helicopters and found out that all five grenades put together do barely enough damage to catch a light attack helicopter (Z-10/AH-1Z) on fire. If I'm not mistaken, the Mi-28 and all transport helicopters have more hit points (I may be mistaken, so feel free to correct me :p), so they would take less even less damage (percentage wise).
Now it's been a long time since I've laid hands on the old noob tube, but if I remember correctly jeeps were always destroyed with two launched grenades and helicopters took fairly significant damage too (I think it took three grenades to destroy a helicopter).
I know many people are fearful that buffing the grenade launcher would reinstate it to the status of noob tube/one-shot shotgun, but it didn't need to take such a hit in the anti-vehicle department. Sorry, if this is a repost/old news.
