We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I prefer m95 because it's useful in all occasions. I've brought down quite a few choppers with it. However, it does make quite a large sound...giving away your position.
I used to hate m95.. now I use it almost every time I go sniper. Simply put, it's now superior to the m24 and l96 in every way: higher damage, just as good accuracy (after all, you're mostly shooting people at 200-300m and you're not likely to be moving ANYWAY) plus the scope gives you drop figures, so its useful when scoping at a flag (since you see the distance number)
Well personaly I choose the weapon depending on the situation.
Some maps have so much fog(-of war :p) that you can hardly see beyond 200 meters. In those cases I prefer the M95 or the default semi's from Mec/PLA. The higher damage output on M95 usually gives you a kill anyway in maps like Karkand and Masthuur (fog maps) because of all the action around the spawns and people allready being shot-up somewhat.
The semi's give you a better chance on the short-medium distance. People tend to get nervous when you kill their health with a few bullets :) And you dont have to reload after each shot as was allready mentioned.
Now when we talk the big maps with lots of visibility its possible to stay somewhat more away from the action. Dragon Valley and Kubra come to mind. The M24 and the L96 excel here. I made kills over 400 meters allready on these maps with a confirmed kill at 436 meters on Kubra.
Because of the big xhair on the M95 it is somewhat of a let down imo when you start to snipe beyond 250 meters. Imo sniping with the Type88 and SVD over 250 meters is extremely hard. You can land shots on somebody over that distance, especially the Type88 (good xhair) is well suited. But after that first or second shot your target will have moved and it will be near impossible to finish him of.
So again imo it depends on the situation, which map you are going to play, and also what is better suited with your own personal playing style. If you like to get down and dirty the semi's are great. You can serve as a designated sniper in a squad, picking of and spotting incoming enemies from a bigger distance. Or covering that same squad when they advance.
When you play a more defensive role the M95 is better suited because it will stop just about anything that is coming in on foot or even in a BH or vehicles like a Vodnik.
When you prefer a lonewolf type of approach you should go for the M24 or L96. Best accuracy in the game. Not as noisy like the other weapons, L96 is the least noisy I think. And still enough damage to stop most infantry cold.
Btw when it comes down to headshots any of the aforementioned sniper rifles will do the job. If I am correct a headshot is allways triple the standard damage, check --> [Ducks]Black_Duck_1 <-- to see some stats on this one.
But if you got the choice of getting a L96 at this point of your BF2 career :) than you can allways swap out after a round or death. Good Luck dude
Personally I love the L96 over the standard semi auto rifles. I prefer the M24 to the L96. The L96 seems to have some long range head shot issues. Shots I'm guarenteed to make with the M24 just fizze into nothing with the L96.
However I refuse to use the M95 on principal. A .50 to the chest should leave a mangled corpse. The guy should not be able to jump up and turn around and shoot you dead.
And I personally think it sucks. I prefer the SVD to the M95.
So personaly preference is M24, L96A1, SVD, M95, Chinese sniper rifle.
However do you not need to unlock the M95 to be able to unlock the L96A1?
L96 for countersniping or if you're feeling bored and want to camp it up. M95 for more combat oriented sniping where you move with a squad. One chest shot and then finish him off with the pistol. It could also be beneficial to the pistol awards if you are interested in such things.
