      Re: Veteran Repair Badge

Last Sunday, 02 April, I got my Veteran & Expert repair badge, my Legion of Merit ribbon and the Combat Infantry medal all in one round. It happened almost by accident; here's how I did it: I was looking for a 64-person map with only a few people playing in it so that the round would last the 34 minutes that I needed to get the CIM, having completed all the other requirements.

I found a 64-person server with 12 people in it playing Kubra Dam; I was MEC. As I said above, I was just going for the CIM. I quickly saw that all three of our artillery pieces were destroyed. I respawned with the engineer kit, started to repair them and started getting the "You just got a repair point" msg.

I'd repair them and then this same guy on the other team would come by in a jet and bomb/destroy them, sometimes killing me and sometimes not. I quickly saw the potential to not only get the CIM but also to get the Veteran Repair badge. 34 minutes passed and I got the CIM and somewhere along the way the VRB. But because only 12-14 people were playing there were plenty of tickets left even after 34 minutes (and I hadn't gotten in on the start of the round although it was towards the beginning).

He kept bombing them and I kept repairing them. Before the round had ended I had received well over 50 repair/teamwork points. So I also got the Expert Repair badge and Legion of Merit Ribbon. If I had completed by 100 hours as a commander (had about 90) I would've rcvd one other medal as well! Oh well.

This was not statpadding or point-farming. I didn't know the other guy and there was no coordinated effort on our part. He was determined to keep our arty out-of-action and I was determined to keep it up-and-running.

points so far). Anybody out there who got it can tell me which map and
        how he did it???

        Thanks guys!!

PS. PKM sucks since 1.22 :-)
I, too, am having problems getting enough repair points before a map ends. It is even more difficult when you add in things like "help" from other engineers and tank drivers who would rather drive over you than to get repaired.

The best way is to be the very best engineer repairing in face of enemy spec ops attacks and support your team. It will come together one day, you watch.

SF Warlord with the Palace as our default is particularly good potential. I would command from the one APC as a engineer ready to repair the assets AFTER killing the spec ops in the area.

I have suffered from tankers who are unaware that there is me engineer next to the track repairing. They would panic and jerk the tank back and forth 100 feet at a time (As if that will prevent a hit) and run me over plus the next 4 people keeping me alive.

When I do find armor willing to stay put and take the hits as I keep wrenching on the tank that is good teamwork.

They should include a voice macro "TANKER! STAY THERE! AM REPAIRING!!!" or something. Once you are repairing a tank stay on one side, because once the enemy AT people start firing that armor will run over you backwards at full speed.

So you armor people repeat after me:

"I will stand my ground under fire, an engineer may be repairing my tank."

If I were you I would play one of the EF maps. Just hop into a jeep and follow the armor column

I got mine on Warlord, just repairing the assets as the enemy blew them up. Confused the Spec Ops guy, He just blew it up and then it was working again. I just repaired a little bit at a time to get everything going and just kept making rounds. We had a few shootouts when he caught me fixing stuff. As far as repairing tanks and apc, do it from a vehicle so they wont run you over and stray bullets won't hurt as much.

I got mine on a tank map, first driving in an APC with a Tank, another APC and AA Vehicle, then repaired some commander assets and one tank. Quite a though badge though.

You will never get it just hanging around APC/TANKS; you will need a determined enemy to keep on destroying the commander’s assets so make sure you get there first. If the commander drops a supply crate on them blow the thing up.

I got mine on Dragon Valley.

I got mine on Sharqi. I was playing with a friend he took the APC and I took the tank (constantly repairing each other). It was a 64 player map with 20 players on, so it took forever.
But you could also check out Operation Smoke Screen. There're so many tanks out there.

I've gotten 10-20 repairs IAR a few times doing my mobile repair vehicle thing.

Right, Go to Wake and be on PLA. Hop in the flying cow. Anytime you take fire, if you are at least 20m off the ground, hop in a back seat and start wrenching. The helo will simply go up high doing circles. It won;t crash if you don;t hit a tree or something. Jets and AA can't lock onto you when no one is in the pilot's seat. Then, look for tanks on the mini map. Just go hover over anything to auto repair it. Be careful tho, here's the damage some things will do to you.

                          TV Missile = die
Tank shell = 75% (but with the MG, if you aren't wrenching away pretty quickly after, kiss your butt goodbye)
                          AT rocket: 50%
                          AA station (1 rocket): 35%
                          F-35 (1 missile): 35%
.50 cal gun: takess about 15 seconds of constant hits from it to kill you
Cobra/F-35 vulcan gun: Takes about 8 seconds of constant hits to kill you
                          Noobikaze: Well, yanno =p

Warlord is definately the map for repair. I constantly hit 10+ repairs on it, sometimes 15+, and I have hit 23 a couple times, and 25 once. Just driving around in the transport repairing and gunning. I been workin on my meritous service and all I had left was repairs - about 850 needed since I never really played eng. that much. well since doing the warlord thing Ive racked up 800 repairs in the last 3 weeks, and got my vet transport doing it.

If you hit 25, how come you don't have expert repair?
