Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Not really a fair comparison though is it? Pitch the X1900XTX vs the 7900GTX or a 7800GTX512 and the real world differences are not that huge.
I didn't say it was. I actually ordered a 7900GTX but found out it doesn't clear my chipset fan so I had to cancel and go for the 1900XTX. I'm not a ATI fan, but I am very impressed, espically with ATI drivers.
the 7900gtx is good for raw speed but it doesnt have all the features that the ATI card does
i would go with the x1900xt because i your going to spend that much on a card your gonna want to be able to crank aa+af up the ATI cards are better at that than the nvidia cards
and according to ati x1k users the ATI card has a overall better image quality things look brighter and shinier
one warning tho the x1900xt fan is load you might want to invest on a 3rd party cooler like such as arctic cooling or zalman coolers
How does one turn on all the little goodies in BF2?
I have all the setting on high and I set what ever it was to x6. I can set the res to the max and it all looks great till I look at the shadows. Very choppy.
I have a 24" LCD and it makes things a bit fat, is there a fix for this?
I would go for the best SINGLECORE videocard there is ATM (19/4/2006), the ATI x1900XTX , i never had a single problem with ANY ATI card. perhaps you guys have to stop screwing around with the settings and OC'ing, that is what broke your rig's.
EDIT: look at the 3DMARK and cry baby cry
(will update the '05 to an '06 3DMARK soon)
As I said, I finally went with 7900GTX 512. I was going to buy the ATI x1900xtx but read too many reviews saying it gets hot and NOISY. I had a very bad experience last year with a noisy (fans) computer, I didn't want it back.
To me the noise is an important issue and didn't want to buy a special FAN for video card (even if Artic makes good ones). At that price, a video card shouldn't have any noise or heat problem. Every review mentions that the x1900xtx makes a lot of noise.
I will get my computer tomorrow and let you know soon what I think of the 7900GTX 512.
Why even bother starting this thread if your so against ATI in the first place ?
Looks like this guy just wasted alot of peoples time.
There is nothing wrong with ATI cards in BF2 unless you run a crappy 9600 or lower.
As for driver issues well Omega drivers are always better than any of ATI or Nvidia standard drivers... so why worry about that ?

I did fix the problem (see link above) by installing the AMD dual core patch.
The 7900GTX seems to be very good. Before I had a P4 3.2 Prescotr and a BFG 6800GT and I was getting (FRAPS) good performance, rarely higher than 60 fps.
Now I have 100 - 60 fps. Rarely go below 60 fps.
The raptor 150G is also pretty fast, but do not expect twice the speed you know.
Just wanted to give some info for people doing search and looking for info.
I have always been an Athlon + Nvidia guy so I will stick with my claim. I havnt used either card but the dual 7800gt's are unstoppable. You cant make this PC sweat with any game made.
Athlon64 4200 X2 (Liquid Cooled)

160gb 7.2k rpm WD HD
