your right, tank battles are missing in the game, id buy it if it had it
Buy it then. 2 of the 3 maps are almost completely tank oriented. If I'm not mistaken, Tarraba Quarry has at least 10 tanks per side.

Taraba Quarry is all about armour and a jet and bomber on each side. The map design is awkward with more of a push flavour to it. All the maps lack transport choppers meaning that the action can be very concentrated
Operation Smokescreen - my favourite - is very much like El Alamein with rolling hills on an otherwise flat plateau with 2 jets and 2 choppers per side. There seems to be far more tanks on Smokescreen and the lack of a bomber makes it very enjoyable plus it looks awesome. The armour battles occur over much longer ranges. The only classes worth playing on these maps are AT, Spec Ops and Engineer which should balance out the necessity to play as sniper, support or medic only on urban maps.

Great Wall is perhaps the best all round map with plenty of infantry only combat on and around the walls while armour battles it out on the ground. It's alot more satisfying than Karkand and encourages more teamwork and the sniper and medics really have a field day playing as infantry only. All the flag points on the wall are quite close so unless one team absolutely dominates you will not have to get into a vehicle at all if you don't want too. Great Wall has no air assets either which may please some and there are 100s of popular servers running them 24/7 not to speak of those who have added it to the other map mix

Sorry, but I could not post a vote in your poll due to the fact I don't fit into any of the catagories!

          I own BF-1942, BF-V, BF2, SF and EF!

Would I do it again? NO!

Would I buy another EA/DICE/Whoerver game again? Maybe!

          Why maybe?

When I started BF2 (Preordered), I thought it was the game of all FPS games, hands down!

Than a bunch of noobs start whining and EA/DICE starts patching the game. Than the whiners continue and EA/DICE sent out more patches to fix the last noob driven patch and end up screewing the game up even more!

SO, no I wont be preodering anymore games from EA/DICE/?? I say I might buy another EA/DICE/??? only after its been out six months and I have had a chance to read on the many forums about the pros and cons of the game as well as what the developers have done with the game since its release.

Got Euro Force, and besides the noticable air imbalance on two of the maps (all but the Great Wall map), I've really enjoyed it. Definitely worth $10 if you ask me.

Most likey no. One plain reason is that Euro Force servers in Australia are almost always empty 24/7. I'm afraid it will happen to AF too and will waste my AU$14. I'll wait and if people servers are continually playing, I may get it eventually.

Patching is part of life no matter what game you buy...exactly what game do you plan on playing online that doesn't have a patch once a month. DICE didn't change the game for noops..there just trying to do what they think its right.

With that said exactly what game would you rather be playing online the BF2...there is no other mass scale modern combat game out there.
For its genre (large scale online military fps), BF2 is the king of the crop and is not a bad game at all when compared to all FPS games up to it.

I look forward to seeing another game rise above it but come on....hasn't happened yet.

As for EF, i have it and to date have put about 4 hours into it. Yes it has an armor theme but that doesn't mean you cant play infantry. The large open spaces allow you to pick a class, hop in a jeep and go off harassing people of your choice. DICE put plenty of anti armor stuff for infantry in EF that make if very playable. Also its only $10 US...look under your couch people cause im sure you got spare change for that.

I think the booster pack idea is a good one because I think full scale expansion pack tend to divide the fan base. BF1942 was a good example of that..Road to Rome was embraced by most of the fans, but then they pushed it too far with Secret Weapons and a divide was created between who had and didn't have the expansions. In BF2 we now have 2 separate games..BF2 and SF. Luckily there enough fan base to support both but i don't know if we can take another full expansion. Sooo booster packs are a good alternative that are cheap and IMO don't divide the fans.

All these Booster Packs should be FREE and a gift to the BF2 community! Cmon EA, you make the $$$ off of the front end with BF2, Special Forces and BF 2142.

I think it's pathetic to make us pay for maps and weapons.

Why not say I'll buy it anyway rather than adding "stupid". Don't assume that because someone dislikes EF and buys AF that they are some kind of dumb cow. Until you buy it you have zero idea about how good it is going to be. It may end up being the best thing since sliced bread. And it also might end up being a steaming pile of dung. You don't know which, yet. Since it is only ten bucks, I don't care which it ends up being. That pays for exactly two days of lattes and is not above my "buyers remorse threshold".

i bought EF and have only played 1 or 2 FULL rounds but i'm still gonna buy AF. why? i've pretty much bought everything else BF2 related plus a new PC and when i do get the time to play again, i'm reminded why BF2 is probably the best game ever created (until the next series comes out)!

that, and it's only 10 bucks!

Thats quite the socialist remark DICE should be obligated to spend thousands of dollars in developement time then turn around and give it away for free...nah $10 feels about right for what you get. Besides they gave you Wake Island for free right???

Now if we paid a monthly fee for BF2 then i would agree with you.

So far ive baught BF2 on the day it came out , the SF xpack and Euroforces. BF2 was good value for money , SF was and is a pile of ****e basically £20 for some new unlocks , Euroforces no one plays it in my clan so basically that was a waste of money. So as intresting as Armoured fury sounds im not getting it and to be honest with you im proberly never going to buy another battlefield game ill be playing vanilla for years to come though.
