Re: What I think is "wrong" with the assault class in versions 1.2 onward
Honestly. No. I think me an all of my fellow assaulters are screwed. Yet, it doesn't hurt to ask.
Back on topic though...
I think Assault is just missing the tools to commit to it's niche. First off. You simply "SHOULD NOT" be losing gunfights to Medics and Spec-Ops on equal terms. This has never made sense. I can understand a Sniper, maybe even support given the right conditions, but a Medic and Spec-Ops!? They have darn near god-like abilities between them. Not to mention a six man squad evenly split between the two can tackle "EVERYTHING" in the game.
Assault needs the old Grenade Launcher Blast Radius without a bleeding effect. The current crop of nerfs (Arming Distance, Bouncing off of Any and Every Vehicle under 50m) are nerfs enough in their own right. We don't need the 203 to be a 40mm sniper round. We need it to be a grenade.
As for the weapon Accuracy, I don't even know why Medics have Rifles. When running to heal someone, at best you should have to worry about cleaning out a few straglers around his corpse. Maybe even a Sniper at Medium/Short range. The SMG's are more suited for the Medic role. They shouldn't really be a valid combat contender. I mean, they already have the ability to survive have the situations no other kit can because they can heal themselves.
Assault should be the ONLY class with long rifles. Also, they should outshoot their Carbine brothers. There is not logical reason for Spec-Ops to be more accurate than Assault. They should be sneaking around setting traps, destroying assets, and bringing confusion to the BattleField. Not charging at a well balanced group of units and wiping them all out with their laser cannont like Carbines that can be fired accurately from standing on Automatic at just about ANY range (...sorry for the run-on. The Carbines just annoy me that much).
...of course. I'm just complaining for the sake of complaining. No, I don't honestly think any of this ideas would see the light of day. Yet, doesn't hurt to make you all read em'/suffer.

for assault now i've turned it right around and my accuracy seems to be increasing, still not great but half decent.
