    Re: Basecamper haters unite!

I don't whine when people are baseraping, that is merely mildly irritating. Whats really annoying (but i still don't complain.) is when they camp the actual spawn points so that you don't have a chance to move. (we've all seen this on karkand at the hotel.) So, to all other whiners: keep your whines to yourselves. I do, and look at how I just cry myself to sleep after a long spell of being baseraped. I should be your rolemodel.

I don't mind baseraping or spawncamping as its a legit part of the game in most cases, people who complain about getting killed just as they spawned normally are so busy running for that chopper/tank/plane/apc they don't notice anything. Also one of the most satisfying things for me in BF2 is fighting your way out of a corner, i'm the sort of player who once killed a couple of times by the same player will try and hunt them down, even if i only get them once still very satisfying.

However it does annoy me when there is one spawn left and the other team just sits there covering all the angles and racking up the kills, why not take the dam flag? I normally disconnect if this happens

In 1945, the Allies landed in France and started taking bases. Their objective was simultaneously to take spawns, and kill as many Germans as possible to reduce their ticket count.

When they had all the bases capped but Germany's main, they chose not to sit outside and patiently wait for the Germans milling around to get organized and leave their main, but instead they chose to baserape.

Remember, the objective is tickets, not bases. Bases help with tickets, but deaths count for 2 tickets a piece. The Allies knew that, and so should you.

Shut up your incessant whining, and fight your way out of it.
            well said my furry friend.

hey dummy.....duh..i get that. (numbnuts? i guess dummy is in order) I understand the tickets and loss thing that you and your other dumber brother are talkiing about. That still does NOT take away from the fact that FLAGS are the objective. Or do you have some kind of disorder? Whats the point of taking flags? Cuz its the objective. See you have to look at the big picture. Your only looking at one thing, showing how narrow minded you are. GOt it? Hope so. Like I said i never said you couldnt win by tickets only. I said objective. And tickets are really the omg...........nevermind, cant explain this to the spawn raper crowd anyways. God, go back to counterhack already.
(oh if it will help you in your arguement......i dont really care, thanks)
What IS the objective of BF2?

              To win the game

The game is won by reducing your opponents tickets to "0"

              Nothing more, nothing less

There are 2 means to this objective

              1. Ticket bleed due to flag capture

              2. Killing the enemy

Both of these are means to an end, NOT the sole objective of the game

I hope this clears up the confusion

ps. It is amazing how many time we have won Wake Island as PLA by just holding the airfield against US's maniacal assualts (in an effort to "tap us out")

              peace

I spawn camp if I get the chance and it's allowed. I figure my objective as the enemy is to make the OpFor's life hell. I mean, it's not fun to know the "ONLY" reason you were able to mount even a slight counter offensive is because the defending team allowed you to. That's the worse way to play. I want the enemy to use every tactic they have against me outside of the realm of exploitation.

I think some of you might be taking it a bit too far on this one. No, it's not "fun", so to speak, to be camped. Yet, it's the nature of the best. If you want to play out of position (As in playing sniper on a vehicle heavy map) and out of squad balance (Such as an entire squad of medics on Gulf) then you have to deal with the fact that the other team might overpower your ill-constructed force and rain down the fury of God on you. Adapt and Overcome actually applies to this one.

                  Re: Basecamper haters unite!

in effect, if it was 20 versus 20, you could win the round, with your team just having 40 points, simply by capping all flags, and killing each enemy once after each flag was capped. In theory. Thus, capping all flags, it would seem to me, would be a better investment in time to insure a win, then playing.............i guess what you would call, deathmatch.
Control the flags, control the map. Control certain flags, control the map. Funny how flags, get mentioned alot.
But to be fair, there are 2 different types of maps in bf2.
Flag maps, and semi quasi deathmatch maps. So, perhaps we are on different pages. Same book, different page.

The game is won by reducing your opponents tickets to "0"
This is completely true. However, how many times have you in effect, won the game with a score of say... (team scores) 230-150?
I've seen that so many times its unreal. Of course the 150 goes down real fast to "restart' the server/round. But in effect, the win was won at the 150. Why? Flags.

Ok, i give in........i give in.
Flags are not important, nor are they the objective.
I'll just go play sniper on some water tower. And when im the last person alive on my team, and my team mates start yelling for me to cap a flag........i'll direct them to this post. Sorry team......flags are not the objective. (which they should understand that, considering they lost all of em in the first place.)

Now I see where the confusion lies

Most ppl do not understand the meaning of the word objective, as used in the military

The objective is the OBJECT of the game, it is the END, not the "means to the end"

Pay particular close attention to 3 a :

objective = goal (the end) Do we really need to define goal?? rotflmao

The goal of the game is to reduce opponents tickets to "0"
