Simple request for those who play 24/7 karkand

Please don't go sniper and also get into tanks/apcs. I've been playing these kinds of servers as engineer(trying to get expert engineer and veteran armor), even host two of them. But i'm tired of having points deducted for team vehicle damage because the guy in the tank/apc who is a sniper got his butt kicked and now needs fixed so he comes barrelling into me cause he sees my little wrench floating above whatever i'm in. I don't mind fixing as i'm sure no one else as engineer in a vehicle does, heck thats why i went engineer, to fix armor on an armor based map. But please have the consideration to return the favor. So many times I die stupidly cause i have a tank and an apc following me for repiars then when we run into their armor train i can't back out of the way without losing points. People go onto 24/7 karkand maps for certain reasons. Being sniper shouldn't be one of them.

I play engineer on that map too almost exclusively. But why does the sniper kit bother you, and not assault or spec ops? It does not matter what kit they use really? The fact is you are stating is that they facilitate your death by the way they approach you for repairs. I'm confused becaue I do not see the relevance in snipers versus assault or spec ops?
I think a better point to make here is that when you are in armor, whatever map you play, you should always look around before potentially blocking in the person that can repair you.

Its not just the sniper kit, just used it as an example since it serves the least amount of purpose on karkand.
And its the same thing for the foot soldier(whichever kit he/she chooses to use) that walks around between the tanks and apcs while they're engaged with the other teams and gets him/herself teamkilled. Then punish on top of it because a tank tried backing away from another tank and ran you over?

Please don't flame. He has a point and even if he didn't, this shouldn't be the kind of response anyone deserves on these boards.

Yep, don't flame right off the bat like that for something that doesn't warrant it.

I full heartidly agree though. If you're planning on amor whoring, and spawn at the main base looking for the APC or Tank, please spawn as an engineer! It only makes sense so that you could repair fellow vehicles, as well as yourself!

Being engineer works wonders. When you're damaged, just drive off into a corner and make sure there aren't any friendlies around on the mini-map (so they don't steal it) and wrench away! I'm pretty much invincible as long as I keep repairing myself.

Not just this, but can't you imagine how effective it is for two Tank's or APCs to be standing next to each other, mowing down infantry, all the while repairing each other? The repair rate is amazingly quick, and you two would be Godlike!

Team up with friends or regs on the server.

least amount of purpose?!?! your joking right?

Do you have any idea how many frags a sniper can get on karkand with claymores?

The problem is, in the middle of combat when your vehicle is knackered, if there is an engineer available you are going to make a b-line for them. Pretty much the same as with the medics.

I personally avoid vehicles, they're missile magnets!

very few if any if you play where i play and especially now since you're limited to two. yeah maybe back in the day when there used to be these great battles between the hotel and US arty spawn, and still maybe on a few servers where karkand is like 1 of 7 maps in the rotation...but i'm talking about 24/7 karkand where the rounds last like an hour + (64 sized maps with 16-24 people) But hey if you're putting up good numbers with claymores, then more power to ya...just don;t come slamming into my tank with an apc while i'm trying to fight another tank and watch my back for c4 plants.

why would someone spawn at a main, and take a tank or apc if they are not engineer?

I can understand (and have done it) if I happen to find an enemy or friendly armor abandoned, with no one around (if friendly).

But spawning in with the intent of using armor and not being engineer. That's just stupid. They usually don't live for long, since not being able to repair they die. or they bail from it and the enemy takes it and repairs it (asstards, die with your vehicle).

Well i often play on the TV2 24/7 Karkand servers and a few other 24/7 Karkand servers as sniper with my 2 claymores.

The other week (patch 1.2) i racked up 35 kills playing as sniper laying claymoores.

yes that in itself is an ironic statement...but what you quoted was only half the statement.
