300m isn't that much when it come to sniping. Unless your near the edge of your view distance pretty much all the other classes can kill you faster then you can fire 2 bullets. Its headshot or nothing alot of the times. The little camo they give isn't very effective considering alot of maps are urban and even the outside maps bushes don't give much cover.

Well get your headshot or die, thats how it should be, If your not concealed properly. Or god forbid switch to pistol instantly to finish. If you give it another zoom people will get very ****ed off. There will be people sniping from way out of range and nobody will be able to do anything about it apart from snipe back. Then the whole game will degrade.

The sniper rifle zoom is fine, complain about the random crash to desktop instead so they can fix a real problem.

I'd say that the sniper's zoom is fine how it is. If you can see it, you can hit it. It's just a matter of skill, and at times, luck.

If you were to add an adjustable level of zoom, it'd have to be balanced with something like blurring due to distance, requiring adjustment.

Yes, the sniper's zoom is unrealistically low, but it serves the gameplay just fine. Leave it be.

It's probably been limited, like much of the equipment in BF2, to keep a level playing field.

I'd go with real world everytime, but that's just me.

For what, most of the maps are too foggy to see past 300 or meters. The maxium range of a sniper rifle is 800 meters, you can not see that far in the game anyway.

i think its more down to the point that people cannot get a headshot on someone over ~200m. you'll get one occasionaly but more often than not you get a body shot and they will self heal/run away and get healed, making sniping pointless.

3 things a sniper has to contend with; bullet drop, very poor zoom level and no instant kill to torso.
3 is just a few too many to make the rifle effective and one of them does need modifying. best for everyone would be a better zoom, how much? double would be plenty. and remember it wouldnt let you see for 5,000m or anything, it would just make the target appear bigger.
