I experimented with this one and what I found was if you are lucky enough to get the J-10 with an F-35 on your six, what seemed to work was wait 'till they locked on. Then I flipped into Chase rear and watched the missiles fire, Half-roll and push down on the stick and up you go, and the missiles are like "WTF". I am also a fairly skilled pilot for Battlefield 2 but I am disgusted at the way they made the F-35 and J-10. (I am also a pilot in real life, but unfortunately I don't fly the JSF :p) Good luck and take care,

P.S. Don't forget those flare reload times!
Well even if it is junk... you can still kill J-10's with it, its just a billion times harder than being in a J-10 and killing a JSF, because you cant use missles and you have to stalk the J-10's for like a minute until they are going in a straight line.

I only use bombs on tanks.

The machine gun is way ****ing better anyways...

And it has nothing to do with pressing buttons... its where you stand

Yeh... I have been shot out of a stinger launch platform after feeding the enemy jet 2 stingers.
Why on earth Dice had to make the BF2 aircraft so over-capable, I have no idea.
Quite frankly I see what you have been discussing in this thread as nothing more than expoiting.

          OVER capeable...OVER?!

In real life, battles are won and lost on who controls the sky. Aircraft today are capeable of wiping the floor with your M1A1. If anything, they made the jets in BF2 under-capeable to make it somewhat of a fair battle. Air to Air battles are not fought from 5m away, more like 5 miles.

True. I think the key to taking down a J-10 is not only stalking, but having a good wingman. One on the six, and another coming straight from below/above and throw enough lead and missiles at the thing that something has to hit. The only problem with that is the support of the ground forces and then you still have another J-10 lurking around. Oh well I guess thats the way the cookie crumbles.

          Godspeed

They do work but AA has a limited FOV so unless you deploy them correctly you'll think that they do not work.

For goodness sake man, aircraft in real life can't turn within the space of a football pitch, fly so slowly they can engage infantry with guns, re-arm and repair without touching the ground, take two stingers without suffering difficulties, and do several bombing sorties per minute!

                  Re: Jet pilots

It sure does, that's why I always see a pack of people on Wake Island engaging in the sport of "who can get in the cockpit first when it spawns".

my conclusion? nothing. it seems the exact same as the rest of the fighters.... tighter handling than the F35, but pilot skill is what makes the call every time.
u honestly do not know what u are talking about.....

                    J10 hammers the F35 everytime!

Witness the diff in pilot scores on every map.

F35 Vs the mig is a bit more balanced. a la operation SmokeScreen

Take no notice of the carebear he has proven himself to be a complete moron when talking about BF2 subjects.

When ever I see his name as the author of a long winded post these days I dont even waste my time reading.... im sure there are plenty others that do the same.

                        Re: Jet pilots

Trust me it's not pilot skill. It's wether the missiles feel like hitting the J10 instead of a freindly plane/full blackhawk. I honestly don't even know why they made it possible for missles to attack freindly targets.

If they can make mines and claymores not attack freindlys, why not missiles?

It even makes more sense that missiles don't attack freindly targets. Yet BF2 does it backwards. It's a shame, funny really really funny at times but still it's a shame.

Here's a tip that has been said already, Don't use the F35, you won't be able to evade missiles.

IntensivCareBear, why are you always so inflammatory? It's clear to most people that the J10 is significantly better than the JSF. Yes, good piloting skills can give you an edge but put two equally skilled pilots in a JSF and a J10 and the J10 will own every time. Piloting "skills" in this game are a joke anyways...not that flying isn't fun. :)
