Plane - landing?

when playing on single player, the voice - over guy says that you can repair a plane by landing it on a runway.

BUT.

i can never get the undercarriage down.
im not a n00b before you ask, i do know that you can fly over the runway but i was just wondering.
has anyone ever landed a jet?
i was thinking maybe the F-35B because of its hover capability but, i dunno.

I can land Any JET on runway, i can land it under the career where the boats are

F-35B is the easiest. I do it quite often. Never really tried with the others because of lack of runway - I'd have to turn around. With the F-35B I just take off straight up.

I'm keyboard pilot. It's easy to land.
Good approach when prepare to land.
Slow down. when your jet is about to stall. Tap your W key a bit.
Then land.
if your speed is too fast and you're about to crash to the end of the runway(or sea if you try to land on carrier). Eject. your jet will stop as soon as you eject.

I know what you guys mean. I tried landing it, but every time i land the landing gear is down its going slow. But on the millisecond it touches the runway it bursts into flames. Whats that about?

Landing takes timing, just make sure you start to slow down when you see the runway from far. You should be around 400-500 when reaching the ground, and make sure you are parallel.

maybe you ditch the head too much.
For all BF2 jets, one wheel on front and two in the back. So better land with rear wheels first, then gentle touch the front.
So when it's about to land. Speed a tiny bit and pull up so rear wheels will land first.

of course, you can try to touch down with 3 wheels at the same time if yo're good.

I think your going too fast, otherwise it wouldnt explode THAT fast.

yeah i use a keyboard too, the same my pc came with and when i tell ppl this they go: "damn, how can you play with a keyboard"!?. they most likely have joysticks, i've never tried them but it seems easy enough to me that i can go thru teh tunnel in kubra dam with my f-15 or mig.

I am also good in landing and manouvering with planes. But i don't like F-35B

When you get about 300 or so units away from the runway, start slowing down and gradually descend. Once you are just over the runway and the plane feels like it no longer has any real lift, just flare the nose up a hair. With a bit of practice, you can land right on the beginning of the runway and use the rest of it for taking off. There are some maps where this is a bit harder to do because of terrain, but then you just have to land on it the opposite way and do the same thing.

Ever fly jets in Battlefield Vietnam?
In BFV, flying over runway can not repair your jet. Reammo only.
So you must land and drive into hangar to repair. Then you got yoruself a brand new jet. That's how i know i need to land a jet in game

In BF2, we don't really need to do that. Unless your runway was taken(such as cleensweep MEC's airfield) and you're an engy.

you can land any plane but if your just wanting to repair the best thing to do is do a slow flybye over the airstrip
