This is true. Just make sure you hit minimum speed right in front of the hangars.

Hover landing is pretty easy but actual runway landing is alittle harder. It's do able but takes some practice. When landing try to keep the nose up so you don't slam into the ground, make sure you're slow enough so the landing gear automatically comes down but not too slow that you go into a stall. Since the jets don't have plain flaps or split flaps you have to constantly change your airspeed inorder to slow the plane down but also avoid a stall. The cockpit HUD is there for a reason, watch the altitude and attitude meters they'll help you land as well. Yes, I like flight simulators.

I remember repairing in BF1942, I would just fly full speed into the rear wall of the hangars since it wouldn't kill you..that was always hilarious looking. It was almost as good as doing a nose dive into the roof of the hangar when you're in a dogfight. It wouldn't kill you but it would toss you around really fast at different angles...really threw the other guy off.

The BF:V landing was a lot more difficult than '42, because of the speed and slow response of the thrust to state the obvious. And also the tight jungle airfields were a pain, especially the NVA one in Flaming Dart and both of them in Hastings. Also, blowing up as soon as you hit the dirt was a crap shoot.

The landing in BF2 is actually more manageable compared to BF:V. The planes are much more responsive and you have the option of the last minute go around with the afterburners. You just have to give yourself lots of room and enough thrust to keep the nose up or else you will explode on touch.

My favorite way to land with the F35 is to go to the carrier from the UAV end and pull straight up a little before it then when you almost reach the top of the loop put down the throttle, finish the loop and land. and I always get it in at the perfect speed of 350-450.
Yeah BFV planes were a pain to land.

Not always. I believe it's the speed. When you eject the jet if it's still traveling fast on the runway, then the wing might hit and kill you. But if you wait and eject at the last moment and assume the speed is slow enough. Then you're safely landed -both of the plane and yourself

Don't forget that a boat can kill you when it is moving a millimeter every 2 seconds. I've been killed more than I would like to admit by this.

I just land it on a strip of road or runway and wrench it, backing up a little bit to get take off distance with the engineer class.

If really desperate I'll snatch a few health bites off a nearby supply crate by flying over slowly and low.

                    Re: Plane - landing?

Just for kicks Ill give you the low down on landing (I was in the Air Force and have about 200 hours sim time most of it F-15, oh and Im not a pilot) First the numbers on the left of your HUD are air speed. The numbers on the right are your altitude. The symbols in the middle represent attidude, ok. All important when landing.
I believe gulf of oman Mec runway to be the easiest to land on so practice there in Lan mode.
Approach speed should be about 440 when starting approach and slowly lower your speed during approach untill you reach about 310 when just crossing the begining of the runway.
Altitude when begining approach you should be at about 70 (feet or meters, whatever the guage reads doesnt matter its still 70) start as far out as you can, in line with the run way, at the edge of the punish zone. As you get closer to the run way slowly raise the nose of your Air craft up to be just in front of where the other jets are parked staying in the center of the run way. As you cross the begining of the run way you should be at around an air speed of 290 and an altitude of 40 to 60. Make sure the little symbol in the center of the hud has its wings in a stright line with the other horizontal lines. From here it should be a simple matter to pull the nose of the Air craft up (point it up so your air speed starts to drop off) a little and when you get to an altitude of about 20 to 30 cut the engines. The Air craft should touch down by itself. When down adjust air speed to just enough to keep you moving and roll to the other end of the run way, left side of center. At the end Make the engines full reverse, when you start moving push right on the stick and you should turn around and be facing down the run way. Throttle up and You can Take off and become air bourn at about an air speed of 380 to 420. Thats it. Landing with a take off too.
Landing on the carrier is also possible. I recomend using the MEC bomber for starters its more forgiving during landings. Also these numbers will work without any adjustment in that air craft.
I typed this from memory, I have about 25 landings and take offs on this map. I will check the numbers when I get home in about an hour. Good Luck. . . . . . .Red

I double checked these numbers and they work. I also did it in all the air craft on this map but you have to adjust the numbers a little for the other jets.

So, any Brave souls wanna try this?

I have no problem landing planes anywhere. On moutains, through trees, even inside the occasional building.

Unfortunatly, they tend to be in smoking little pieces.

I've maanged to get my plane down. The part i've been hving trouble with is turning the jet around so i can take off again. I prolly just over think it and panic.

                              Landing is easy,
but sometimes, the jets just won't get repaired when they were landed on the runway.
And if landing @ anything other then the carrier, the jets would be stuck @ the runway as making a 180 degree turn @ the end of the runway just take too much time, and it will be too vuluneable to attack.
