I downloaded the 1.22incremental patch from the EA website. I was previously running 1.21. But whilst installing it, it froze and went white. So i had to quit it. But i then loaded the game. It said in the top left "1.22750" or something, which i think is 1.22. But when i tryed to join my fave server it said i needed unmodified content! So i tryed installing the 1.22 patch again but it said i needed 1.21. So i installed 1.21 again an then tryed 1.22 and it said the same. I know there has been many posts like this but i hoped that if i put in aenough detail, there would be a better response. The only reason i put that title by the way, is o make you read the thread lol. please help

Try uninstalling EVERYTHING and install it all back up in this order:
BF2
Special Forces
Euro Forces (if you have it)
1.03 patch
-1.03 - 1.12 patch
-1.12 - 1.2 patch
-1.2 - 1.21 patch
-1.21 -1.22 patch

my screen froze and went white while i was installing it but i just waited it out, and it fixed itself.

But i had HUGE problems with patching failed and all the other errors you could think of. We ended up having to reinstall windows lol. I'm scared i will have to go through that again. And also i really dont want Euro Forces.

Try uninstalling EVERYTHING and install it all back up in this order:
BF2
Special Forces
Euro Forces (if you have it)
1.03 patch
-1.03 - 1.12 patch
-1.12 - 1.2 patch
-1.2 - 1.21 patch
-1.21 -1.22 patch

I think going BF2 -> SF -> EF -> 1.22 full patch would be easier and less likely to corrupt something.

BF2 > SF > EF > Patch 1.22 FULL

This will do it. You could also do it EnzO's way, just to give us all a good laugh. :)

Actually, you cant install EF until you patch to at least 1.2 (i tried, it failed). but i guess that doesnt matter in this case cause you said you dont want EF

Same thing happened to me. Reinstalled everything and now I can't bind my left ctrl key to anything. when I hit this key I crouch, even though it's not bound to crouch. I guess I'll have to reinstall again. Jesus Christ can't they get this thing right?? You'd think they'd learn a thing or two by now!!!

yeah mine went white and froze for about 10 seconds too but i just left it and it sorted its self out

I had my screen go white too while installing the patch, however, I know better than to try and stop a patch mid patch. Patience is a virtue and will keep you from pooching your computer. After a few moments everything went back to normal and the patch continued on it's merry way. Game still works fine.

Happened to me too, luckily i anticipated this kinda crap would happen so when i was downloading 1.21 i downloaded the full version. So when installing 1.22 incremental it froze (white screen), same crap that happened to you happened to me. I had to totally uninstall BF2, reinstall and patched 1.21 full then redownloaded and patched 1.22 and everything went smooth...


...Only, 1 day later. For me to constantly get kicked by punkbuster for ''Client Authentication Failure''

..The battle to actually get in and play in a battle continues for me...

I'm having some problems with the new patch. Patched it last night, then went to go play, then when i clicked start bf2 the game started and i got a black screen which didnt change. Before I reinstall bf2 and sf i would like to know how many bf2 installer discs there are for each game. So far I have found 3 for vanilla and 2 for sf.
