Mine just tabs out randomly, like when you alt n tab, it just does that occasionly automaticly for some reason, bf2 dosen't crash, i just click on it in my task bar, and it's back on

that sounds like it may be an application causing that. may want to quit all unnecessary applications and processes.

glad i found this patch to deal with this extremely buggy game

my two crash dump errors dating back to my last fresh install as of 04/03 and patch 1.22 full.

out of 10 crashes, i have:

Mine freezes up about once a day when I'm playing, I notice it usually (if not always) happens when I'm in a tank. Scene freezes and I get no response, can't Alt-Tab out, can't Ctrl-Alt-Del, have to reboot machine.

Other than that, it works ok.

I've yet to try cutting to a single core, but that's next.

Cisnet 3800+, AMD Athlon 64 x2, 2G RAM, BFG 7800 256M GT OC, Vanilla, SF, Euro, no mods

Thats the same thing that happens to me and a clanmate, not particularly in a tank though. Total lockup, the light doesnt even go on/off when I hit numlock. Have to reboot. :cry:

besides the occasional "connection lost", i have never had CTD problems....UNTIL i downloaded the APRIL 14 package of updates from Windows Update. Took me quite a while and much aggravation to figure it out an uninstall those updates.

i have been experiencing problems since that update so it could be these updates that are messing with my game, can you please give advice on how to remove the updates.

had similar problems with CTDs and freezing with sound looping. read forums and saw something about overheating. opened up my case and put a desk fan on it and no more CTDs or freezing. therefore, must have been a heat-related issue for me, and something you might want to consider. not sure if it was my cpu or vid card that was overheating, but whatever it was it was getting to hot.
