It's just a game. Other people's stats really are meaningless.

I'm a moderate on the issue tho. I like seeing padders get their stats whiped because I'm stick that way. No excuses. I like to believe in Karma and enjoy seeing it take whatever form it happens to be.

I truely believe that being an arse, trying to cheat your way to *whatever*, or simply trying to take an easy path to rewards are all good reasons for a little karmic kicking in of heads.

Honestly, I'm at the point now where I think EA should pull the plug on the whole stats thing and just open all unlocks to everyone. Would take a lotta moanin 'n groanin outta things.

And also, Why do people have the need to ruin other's fun becuase someone else deems it wrong? Going into a knife and pistol server is VERY fun, IMO. When someone comes in with a tank or an M16, they are complete asshats. I hate people like that. Just have fun, jeez.

I think some people on here worry too much about their stats.

Me personaly, I could care less who out ranks me or who has more kills. I play the game to "escape" reality for a couple hours, hang out with the guys and gals from my Clan and most importantly to have FUN!!!

If someone gets their ass chapped by a certain kind of server, go punch the clown and have a beer. You'll feel better.

Stat padding doesn't hurt anyone... Stats hurt the game, because of stats we have these little self appointed server police like the originator of this thread that feels it is their sworn duty to track down and report activity they deem inappropriate to their beliefs..


If someone wants to run a weapon specific game because it is fun to them, then so be it. If it weren't for stats we wouldn't have all these whiney threads criticizing how people play; we would be playing all for fun...

The stat police ruin this game; not the padders....

whining of the community and do anything people just whine about

It was fine till we only snitched CLEAR and extreme cases of stat padders
but NOW you need to be a slowly layer to play the game

It is so extreme that if i really would have to follow ever one of the rules
on the ROE list I would rater stop playing the game, and with that probably
not buy the next one in the series

IF at all the only way introducing such extreme rules would be a community

What I see is the majority of people supporting both the RoE and BF2RS. It's a handful of people that want a free ride up the ranks that get all snarky about it.

You have what you paid for. A lisenced agreement with EA that you accepted when you installed the game. The RoE is part of that. If you mis-understood, you've still got unranked servers to play on.

This kinda energy wold be much better spent on something that matters... and something you have a hope of doing something about. Why not protest the ongoing illegal occupation of Iraq? How about helping to loby for increased funding into non-enviromentally destructive alternate fuel sorces? Hell, you would even be better off trying to stop the clubbing of baby seals (woot! Canada's anual tick off the tree huggers event that seems to shock everyone once a year despite it going on for the last 50).

I can imagine how quickly this e-mail is going to hit the trash bin. That honestly has to be one of the least professional complain letters I've seen posted. Democracy? You gotta be kiddin. There's no democracy in a licensed product. What you suggest would be a MUCH bigger headache for EA to manage and would ONLY give voice to us geeks who ever bother to log into a forum. The way things are now, BF2RS can watchout for the best interests of casual players while listening to the whims, whines, and wants of the community.

In short, ya ain't gonna do nothing with this whole thing other than waste your time.

I don't agree with some aspects of the ROE either especially the part where EA "all by themselves" decided they would make the tkpunish system to be mandatory for all ranked servers and even claimed its by popular support of the community, not that they showed any evidence of this popular support. Apparantely we all love getting tkpunished for bugs/accidents/griefers.

So if you want to be heard you know where to go. Shawn from EA regularly reads the comments made in that thread. To their credit they have listened to us in the past and we have had some concessions made in regarding getting the ROE changed, and they literally changed in front of my eyes whilst participating in the discussion.

I joined one of these servers a few weeks ago not knowing it was illegal, and after i found out about this i didn't go to it again. But i was just thinking as i read the EA Games Ranked Server ToS...What if you and a bunch of buddies go on a empty ranked server, playthe game with only knives and pistols, but try and cap flags and such? would it be illegal since i don't think EA could force you to use specific weapons? Just something to think about i guess :)

-TOTAL and immediate legalization of ALL drugs
-reducing U.S. military spending to the level of Canada
-restoring true democracy on the USA , by starting but not limited to - not allowing any corporation or individual to own or control more then 1 of each media carrier in each area, with steps braking apart the 2 parties in to several smaller parties… and so on
-spending the 100’s of billions of tax money saved on military and war on drugs in to fixing the U.S. economy and faster building up production of alternative fuel sources (it is already 100% replaceable with agriculture like bio diesel, bio unleaded and or ethanol) < they still not good fro the environment but they never run out, I’m not worried about the environment, I’m worried that if the oil in 5-15 years will be short we have some serious war started over it, further more I like to be able to keep my mobility and large horse power vehicles (call me selfish – I’m)

Wrong again!
Rational discussion with BF2RS got some of the more problematic issues overturned. I'm proud to have been involved with that and will continue to provide well thought out and logical feedback to them. Indian Scout and crew have been very good about going to bat on behalf of the community when they feel it's warrented.

You seem very much like a person who's got his personal views confused with reality. Apparently, there's a HUGE difference.

Wait a minute- The ROE is BS.. As the superceeding rule says that once you open the packaging you can't return the software, but the ROE isn't made available when you purchase the game.. You don't read and get a channce to agree to the EULA until you have already opened the software. Therefore you are stuck accepting the agreement else you just wasted money on a game you are not playing..

And i don't care if the EULA or ROE can be read on the EA webpage or some BS. Needs to be on the package when you purchase the software. If it came down to a lawsuit, the ROE and EULA wouldn't hold in court..

Actually, it is binding. EULAs like this have been tested in court. A little know collection of programs called Windows was attacked for simular reasons. It's held up so far.

The only ajustment that's been made is that it has changed form "open the package" to "install the software". You cannot reasonably be expected to deal with an EULA that you have no access to. By deferring the defacto acceptance of the contract to the point of installation, it is assumed that you have read the EULA in the box.

This is a different agreement from software that marks it self as unreturnable. It must be a stated store policy or printed clearly on the box for that bit of agreement to apply.

Hehe, this is the crap you get in your head when you study contract law for a couple years.

Hm...interesting thought. So you think they're actually forcing us to play with all weapons. What if I played with only a pistol(e.g. I wouldn't use any other weapon just to get the pistol badge) on a normal server...and since I'm pretty good with it and rank up let's say 20 kills/round...would this be considered stat padding?
