I mite actually have to update to the current patch just to try this out, sounds like fun.

I definitely would have thought that this would have grabbed the attention of certain others that post on this board.

Ducky thank you for your feedback, those are all good ideas. We will definitely take them into consideration for the next version of the map, or make a completely new map :) We have been through so many versions of the map.... after every playtest someone would find a bug or think of better ideas. We will go with the current map as is until Dogfight Day.

Joining teamspeak is just to intreact with other players, also helps us keep track of who's on and can be contacted for prizes. We will probably post the server info in our forums too.

Spawning in a random plane just adds some variety to it, so hopefully ppl won't be flying the same plane all the time. But you can still hop out of the plane you spawned in and grab another one.

Also on Dogfight Day if we get too many ppl we'll split it to more than 1 server, maybe 2 or 3. If it gets more than 15v15 it gets way too messy.... 40-50jets might be fun to do it for a while but it's not exactly dogfighting anymore =P

Thank you guys. hopefully you will fill that important vacancy nicely. we definitly need good air maps. I really miss DC No Fly Zone.

I will keep watching your posts for some news.

Edit: I was playing today when there were around only 16 guys in the server. It was a lot of fun. Maybe for a map of this size we can have 20 players max.

It is not that good when you have 10 guys making a line chasing each other.

Sir community has these kind of events aswell. Im going to be husslin´ with the boys and girls as soon as I get my game back and installed.


BiBi, I would suggest another map for dogfights. One that would make more use of terrain.

I spent about an hour and half there. Thanks for hosting. Would've been a lot more enjoyable if more pilots relied less on missile spam and more on actual "dogfighting." I found myself dying many times to pilots who would just empty entire missile loads without any care about friendlies/other jets.

Let me know when you plan on hosting another competition that requires (or disables the use of missiles) gunning and less missile spam.

Public Dogfight Server will stay up so have fun in there.

We've gone through so many versions of this map, it still has its faults like people have said, ie. better terrain, bigger engagement area, different color schemes of planes for the two teams, guns only, no bailing, no choppers, etc. But I think this map has done well.

Next project we will work on is a all chopper map (with some kind of objectives), or another huge airshow for planes only, with a completely new terrain and map layout.

This is a very interesting video. Thanks a bunch. Hell, it beats NASCAR, which I love the most! Awesome entertainment value. Too bad the fights were rather short. Some chases were genuinely awesome.

Had a great time last night on the server, great idea and some decent pilots on there.

Question: quite a few of the pilots were able to spot enemy jets and was wondering if any had mapped key's to their joysticks.

I've tried mapping a key to the comma rose (whatever) and the joystick axies to the relevant settings but this screws up the mouse cursor in the squad screen etc.
