Colinloves I glad you asked this question. I had the same problem on Wake Island. I removed the game and re-loaded it and placed all the patches on and the same thing happens. So I think that we should down load the new patch from EA server and try that one. Sorry, but its the best advice I can come up with. Are you using XP? just out of interest as I am. Just to see if anyone else is having the same problem and did you get your patch from EA?

The last time I checked, the thread starter doesn't have that problem.

Im totally patched up. Are you taking about the new hotfix patch 1.22? (Im hoping the patch will address this problem)
Yes, me and friend use XP.
Im really thinking its got to do with Euro Forces, as thats the only modified content I can think of.

Have you also installed Euro Forces??

I have EF installed, no problems here. As I said, re-install whole your BF2 directory, and give it a try.

i had this exact same problem on a server i am a regular on, all i did was download the patch thru the EA downloader (i was using a patch from GamersHell before) ran the patch again...problem gone. its worth nothing that too have removed the video files, it was something i done ages ago.

I just popped in the EA forums and it seems alot of people there are having this same problem. And they are all saying, that have reinstalled everything, one way, the other way, turned their PC upside down and installed and all to no avail. Problem aint fixed

I still aint worked this out. Now I hear about a program called 'md5', does checksums or something to all ya files. But I dont know how to use it. Help please, can someone give us all a step by step account on how to use it.

I dont understand it thou. I can get onto some servers yet noty others. Its got nothing to do with the maps, cos I can play strie on one server, yet not on another. HELP !!!! this is horrid

I just installed new patch 1.22 partial patch.

And guess what?? ........... Still got the 'Unmodified Content' problem.

I might try installing the FULL 1.22 patch, but I dont think it will help at all.

I have that error also. I will attempt to reinstall 1.22 patch.

Ok, got it.

Reinstall the patch (I used the full version from EA downloader)
But be sure to disable antivirus and quiet the computer down (No browsing etc while patching)

Try to rejoin a server it should work.

I was getting the "Unmodified content" error, but only on a few servers.

I have been trying to find a way to use the pblc.cfg to log the md5sum file check that was erroring but I could not get that to actually log file names.

What I did do was:

1. download md5summer and create md5sums from my bf2 directory
   
2. backup my bf2 directory and profile
   
3. reinstall the 1.21 patch, this time using the full patch
   
4. tried logging into known server that I errored on ... this time connecting and running fine
   
5. ran the md5summer again
   
6. used examdiff to find the differences in the twp md5sum files

What I found was that there where several md5sum differences in:

• mods/bf2/Levels/Wake_Island_2007/client.zip
  
• mods/bf2/Localization/English/XPEnglish.utxt (in fact, this file in each language)

The xpack files below where actually missing:

• mods/xpack/Objects/Weapons/Handheld/nsrif_crossbow/Info/weaponIcon.png
  
• mods/xpack/Objects/Weapons/Handheld/nsrif_grapplinghook/Info/weaponIcon.png
  
• mods/xpack/Objects/Weapons/Handheld/sasrif_teargas/Info/weaponIcon.png
  
• mods/xpack/Objects/Weapons/Handheld/usrif_fnscarh/Info/weaponIcon.png

So, I would try the "full" patch install as others have already stated. This was the second time doing this, so if it does not work once, try installing it again.

Once more servers go to 1.22, I'll see what happens with that install. I will be using the full patch though.
