Game Load Times- A suryey

How long does it take you from joining the game from the server browser/connect IP option to when you click "join game" after verifying client data?

I'm about 45 seconds. I have 2GB RAM, Radeon X850XT vid card, 10000rpm hard drive.

If it's under 45 seconds, please give your computer specs!

I'm usually somewhere under a minute. I have an amd fx55 cpu, 2G ram, 6800 ultra w/ 256MB ram, 2 10,000 raptors set up in raid 0.

im less than 30secs, my specs in sig, so maybe u lot have alot of crap running in the background, or ur comps aint optimized, shame lol

I got no lag at all, so i got a load time around 40 secs, kinda wierd for the fact that i have value memory, but it's true, look at my sig.

Seriously, i have value memory (I'm very ashamed of this fact, didn't think of overclockin when i built this rig). It's the internet connection, i have Cable, and it like never lags, cause nobody in our house uses it besides me most of the time. Also, i don't run anything else at the same time, i close all applications when running BF2. Also, it's just the load times that are fast, in game, i only get like 35-45fps, just cause of the damn 1.12 patch and patches after that, my game has gotten screwed. I used to get a CONSTANT 60fps on max settings, now i get usually around 35fps at max settings, with highs and lows of 45 and 25 fps respectively.

I don't know the exact time, but I'm usually the first one in (99%) of the time anyway, which is great considering I like to fly (always get the plane. :) Computers really don't get better than mine with the exception of SLI.


Here are my specs:
Amd Opteron 170 x2 at 2980 mhz
1GB OCZ Plat Elite DDR 600 (at 596 mhz) 2.5-4-3-6
XFX 7900 GTX
74GB Raptor

The load time isn't only how much memory you have, that helps. However, from my experience the main factors that influence load times in BF2 is memory bandwidth, and hard drive speed.

I also noticed when I moved from a 7800 GTX 256 to 7900 GTX 512, the load times dropped noticeably, so it seems videocard memory size helps.

I am usually one of the first people in the game.

I have 2GB RAM, AMD 4200+ x2, and I think the factor that gets me in quickets is my 16mb cache SATA hard drive. Reminds me, i don't think i have that in my sig.

I have 1GB
Waiting time 1min.10 sec.
When i'm playing 24/7 and the map reload it takes 10 sec. to load, 5 sec. to verifying client data.Extreme fast.

This is what i've been wondering for a long time. I've got an old system (1.5 years) and i'm usually among the first if not the first playing.

40 seconds. Clean start, 32 player Karkand.
Reload takes less (less than 20)

Sempron 3100+ @ 2.5gHz
1g memory @ DDR450
6800 Ultra
200G Seagate Barracudda 7200 (for os&bf)

Im loaded into a map in 10-20 seconds. In fact I ususally have time to hop in a vehicle and go to steal an enemy vehicle before anyone else spawns.

Your amount of ram is the greatest factor on load times. It's alot more important than brand or speed. Specs in sig.
