My mate had this problem, he has a 1meg broadband connection, so i told him to phone his service provider who then instructed him to disconnect the power from the modem while he refreshed the signal (to the modem!) i didnt think this would work but it has worked perfectly, apparantly he was losing packets of data through his connection? The internet was running ok but when connecting to multiplayer the line was being compromised!

Dont know if this info is any use to you guys but he had the exact same problem connecting to servers, playing for a minuite or so and losing the connection to the server. It is running great now.

The clan's been playing on teamspeak, and we mostly all get it at the same time. either freezes or back to server browser.
        It really grips my ****.

I got the same thing too. I joined 2 different servers and I got the Problem about 10 minutes into the game.

Right click your network connection, then properites and uncheck the box that says QoS packet scheduler.

I play on a linksys wireless and this seems to have fixed the problem
I use a Trendnet router and tried this, it seems to have helped. My ping is the same, but performance seems to be better. I can play on a higher ping server and not get those little moments of lag.

                Re: "Problem with your connection"

Iirc the qos sched enabled by default reserves something like 10% of your bandwidth for somethingorother use. support.microsoft.com might have a description about it. But. That's not a cure by itself as i've disabled it a long time ago and still get the connprob and sometimes get dropped from the server.
Other thing i've noticed is the ingame voip causes a massive amount of 'lag' when enabled. Every now and then i enable it when palying alone (i use vent w/ friends) and when i forget it on, even when not in active use , it seems to make my game jerky.

I can't find the QoS packet scheduler thing on my connection? I'm on a Network with a router sharing the connection. I've just updated PB to see if that helps...

Till yesterday I've been experiencing the same problems than u guys, and I only registered to post that it had not happened more to me (well, I only tested yesterday and today, but it's a good progress) since I disabled VOIP. Give it a try, possibly will work too, or at least it won't happen so many times.

                      C'ya.

If you don't have a Creative brand sound card then in audio preferences toggle off "Enable EAX".

I know, I know, sounds fishy, but it solved all sorts of lag and freeze issues for me.

                          This is so annoying.

I've found 2 things cause this message to appear, which generally goes away after about 3 seconds:

                            Nod32 updating
                            Spysweeper updating

As long as they're running and I'm protected, I'm happy.

Have you tried disabling VOIP? Since I did it I've haven't been disconnected from any server :)

I would never disconnect VOIP, its a treasure to play with, this happens in ALL games for, it's really weird...
