    Lan games

Is it possible to play a Lan game of BF2 with one cd-key? I installed it on two computers with the same key, host a server and the other join without problems, possible?

You could always just try it and tell us if it worked or not since you probably aren't doing anything else anyway.

i tryed with battlefield 1942 and it worked, but the only way to do it is with multiple copies of the game. And if you have the DVD Rom version there is only one disk so...it probably wont work unless you burn a bunch of copy's.

You can use a mini image like I do so you don't have to put the CD in the drive when you play. That's my number one problem with copy protection: who wants to have to put the CD in every time they play?

the best thing i probably loved with how valve did HL2 was that the cd key was registered to the account
not to the installation on the computer
you could install the same copy on any computer. and no cd was required either

alcohol 120% + daemon tools = no inserting a cd every time i want to play

i use it for every game i have

What about if you guys use a special forces disk in one machine and a vanilla in the other (assuming you have SF)? I boot up vanilla all the time with my SF cd in-drive.

I asked here because i have not installed the game on both machines, i didn't express myself very well in the first post. If you're saying it will work i will do it, i have SF but i also have a mini-image so i will have problems starting up the game.

My apologies. From your post I thought you had the game installed on both computers and ready to go.

I installed on 2 machines, and it worked the first 2 times I played on the second pc, then today i tried and it wouldnt let me, citing 'invalid cd key'.

Wonder why it said invalid cd key when I installed on second machine? Any ideas on how to fix it?
