I must agree with Wargimp here. The blast radius of the GL's is so minute you need to hit directly with it. I'll take the time to land 3 shots on them from the rifle part.

The GL also seems to have a HUGE inaccuracy built into it. I've fired 3 grenades at the same spot to have them all land around where I was aiming.

I've also noticed a reduction in the number of hummers and vodniks I can kill with them.

They should seriously upgrade the spash area. And maybe the damage.
I fully support the indroduction of the min arming range, but the hand grenades are better.

Pre 1.2 = GL

Post 1.2 = nades and their 2.3 mile distance

i like them both but if i had a choice i would still like to use the gl, mostly because of the speed. The only thing i would like to see is that the splash damage of the gl is the same as a grenade, kind of like it was in 1.12.. I never ran into the problem of noob toobers as you people call them so i never saw the need to change that.

GL still feels weird to me since 1.2. I can't get used to the change. I just avoid it altogether now and use the G3 with nades instead.

Did I just read a topic about grenades and didn't see a single person spell it "gernades"!? :shock:

Anyway, I have to say that I prefer the grenades over the grenade launcher. You can almost throw the handgrenade as long as you can shoot with the GL :laugh: The blast radius of the GL isn't that great.

Plus, having unlimited ammo and an über MG when you play support, helps too

I prefer them for different situations. For example, I like the GL for shooting into windows. I prefer it's accuracy, and if I miss it doesnt bounce back and kill me. However, sometimes I prefer the stealthiness of the hand grenade. It doesnt make a noise when fired and is pretty quiet until it goes off. That and it's hard to tell if one is heading towards you. Of course, the grenade launcher is also nice for nailing light vehicles too. Situational.

When you throw a grenade your soldier will shout grenade. So the GL is rather quieter.

Before 1.2, grenades, now its GL, since it can bounce off doors into open buildings . And it's useful against choppers and jeeps.

Hand grenades. I wouldn't stoop so low as to use a grenade launcher.

I'd like to see the GL able to take our hummer/transport vehicles in one shot and the blast radius increased. This would make assault class much more appealing.

Do you prefer to use grenades or the grenade launcher assuming you had the option of using either one?

Personally i think grenades are better, but having the launcher attachment does come in useful sometimes especially if your defending a flag.

I like both - the explode-on-contact of the GL comes in handy, sometimes the regular grenade just takes too long to explode. The conventional grenade is great to clear a room or rooftop. Whenever I have one there always seems to be times when I wish I had the other.

if your in a quiet area, (no firefights nearby) you can hear a "ting" when the nade bounces on the ground

thats your cue to get the hell out of there

as for the thread topic. i dont play assualt too much so i dont really have an opinion on the launcher (i played assault just enough to get my Vet badge), but i loves my nades. nothing like catching someone off gaurd with one, watching them bolt out of there, then filling them with holes

Grenades are far more effective esspecially in urban combat. They can clear out rooms, bounce of walls around a corner, nail enemies hidinghh behind cover, be cooked so the enemy has less time to react to it...although there is no cooking system in bf2 you can throw the grenade high in the air so the fuse is already ignited in the grenade when it is airborne thus when it reaches sea level the enemy has no time to react.
