Even quicker, click, *Start*, click *Run* and type "services.msc" (no quotes).

There are several services most people don't need, which hog system resources.
The list, and how to do disable or change a service from automatic to manual, is here.

I don't forsee this doing anything, I would check and make sure that QoS packet scheduler was off though for your wireless connection. Network connection > right click the wless connection - properties > and uncheck QoS

Do what I wrote in the tutorial. From what I have heard it works with D-Link and Netgear routers. Try it and make sure you do it right, I guarantee it works. (Atleast it does for me)

I get conn probs even if I'm connected to the router via cable, wtf!

My linksys wireless router is flawless, and my neighbor's netgear router plays bf2 fine too, but don't tell him because he doesn't know

I do. It's an 802.11g and when I disable Wireless Zero Configuration I get absolutely no connection loss and the signal is always at Very Good. I've got WinXP w/ Serv. Pack 2. Might work for some people, might not. Works for me though.
