Re: Defending your favorite spawn point

The points on the west side of Ghost Town are great. Lost of close-quarters battles.

yeah, defending a checkpoint is always a huge help to winning the battle.

Both the insurgent hideout and the security office on warlord are fantastic. many different ways to attack, lots of different levels of elevation to consider, vehicles, roofs, hooks, ziplines, wheeeee!

Re: Defending your favorite spawn point

I prefer defending several spawn points in Special Forces as the sniper class. Especially the missile base in Surge. I love to use two clays in the two nooks on either side of the flag at the base of the missile. Then I move to a strategic location to snipe the soldiers who survive the claymore blasts. Once I stop the assault, a teammate will supply me with more ammo and I'll start the process over again. In vanilla and EF, I spend alot more time in the air so I do as much defending from above as possible.

South / West Mine Entrance on FuShe pass, the one with the huge arsed chimneys, nothing as fun as to have a good squad fill the place with the TOW / Stinger and lots of lots of mines

I would say the Suburbs in Karkand and The City Entrance or the TV station on Sharqui would be my top ones. I will defend where ever necessary though.

I think a lot of you are missing the point by saying the Hotel @ Karkand, i mean sure enough it's a place to get all the action, but it's usually chaos. If you wanna just kick back and take care of any threats whilst still having time to roll a joint or drink your brew, you're gonna struggle on Karkand.

                            My favourite is this one...

... on a 32 player map you can just take it easy and sooner or later there'll be an APC rush, or some little scamp in a spec ops uniform'll try nickin the flag! There's plenty of places to hide, if you want you can 'man' the TOW, or turn the chopper round so you can mini-gun the next wave! Sooo many times i've held back to 'keep' this flag, even when we've lost the base at the top of the hill, it just means that you don't have as much time to eat your tea or whatever, and the satisfaction of single-handedly 'taking care' of an organised attack from APC's buggies and a few foot soldiers going for the easy flag is sublime!
I love this thread, it's brought back some good memories and i'm gonna play on this map tonight!

I love the Wake Island airfield as others have said, nothing like getting attacked from both sides and just being a sniper on the ridge armed with an L96A1 hitting the little chinnese as they run! :P

Man I love D on Sharqi Peninsula at city entrance. Engineer class at gate from MEC Northern base is Money. TOW Rocket, Mounted MG in bunker and mines. you are not getting through. I can take out a apc or Vodnek before they are on the bridge. Ive racked up 17 defensive kills at that point during the first 10 min of a round. It certainly helps when hard headed MEC keep thinking they can make it through my Triangle of Justice
