i dont like what people use them for

you know, guns = a tool

you don't have to kill people with them.

As for me - I use my guns to take out agression on faulty computer equipment. I love shooting cisco stuff out in the desert. Then i bring it back to work and display it on my desk so people won't ask me to fix their network

I use my gun for target shooting - thats it. I'll only shoot a person if I must to stay alive. If some guy comes at me with a knife - i still won't shoot him (in most circumstances). I'll just run.

Oh and thanks for the read folks. I can see flashlights and stuff being mounted on a rail close to the barrel and a 1x aimpoint i guess makes sense. IMO shotguns for urban use hardly need to be aimed at all =)

They were invented for killing though, not target shooting.

If you had to create a list of "objects causing pain and suffering in the world" they would be right up there.

In spite of that, I'd like to own one and take up shooting some time.

As a certified shotgun whore, I weigh in on shotguns:

M11-87/NOR982: Blam! The best! So much power at short range!

DAO-12: Not that powerful, but what a fire rate, and 12 rounds!

BENELLI M4: DAO-12 and M11-87 had a one night stand. Benelli is the bastard child, and I love him like a son.

Shotguns are less of the noobcannons they're cut out to be in BF, since many times range dictates you whip out your pistol and try for the distance shot, or dart from cover to cover while charging towards an enemy with an assault rifle because you have to take him at close range or get blown open at range. In Counterstrike it's different because you're never often called upon to use weapons tactically, just rush and buttonmash, rush and buttonmash.

I shot a deer @ 110 yrds. right through the liver, & lungs, & backbone w/ 1 shot from a Remington 12 ga. pump w/ fully rifled barrel, & Leupold 3X9 scope cantiliever mounted to the barrel (not the receiver) w/ a 3" mag 1.25 oz. slug from a crouched position over a log

btw, it didn't take 1 step after I hit it, went down as if struck by lightning

The doe would have hit it's head on a street light it jumped so high

Shotguns are capable of incredible accuracy
