the prospect of more infantry based fighting is really appealing to me but all i seem to be reading about is people who have trouble running it or who dont find servers to play on! (BF2: SF)
Should i get it or not!?! need feedback! help
im sure euroforce is worth the 10 dollars but i wanted more infantry based combat which EF does not offer. The prospect of having 20 tanks on one map is really putting off to me..

I just got SF two days ago and I am enjoying it a lot. The grappling hooks, jetskis, ATV's, and all the other little things in the game make it a lot more fun than regular BF2. I was on a jetski yesterday and I was circling around this guy in a LAV and he couldnt spin his gun fast enough to shoot me so I just ran circles around him and darted off. Those things haul a** and are sooo much fun to ride. The grappling hooks are fun too...It adds a new dimension to the game if you like to play sniper.

1. I have a decent PC w/X850XT and on 1280x1024x32 mixed high/medium settings + 2X aa my fps never drops below 40, no lag, no hickups no stuttering.
2. With ATSE I find over 150 servers with pings no more then 100 and most in their 20's-50's.
You wont be sorry if you want face to face combat and shootouts, I was also skeptical like you but I tried it and Im happy that I did.
The bottom line is that its alot better then BF2 and MILES better then EF.
It's fun, with new gadgets, although I reverted back to BF2 just because it didn't exactly suit my taste for actual...special operations warfare. More of just giving cool gadgets to standard infantry. This is kinda shown by the inclusion of artillery.
The day maps are great, in my opinion. The night maps would be great too, if I could see anything...but then they wouldn't be night maps, and I wouldn't need to keep hitting the nvg key.
Conclusions:
ATV's=fast, get anywhere on the map in seconds (yes, they ARE that fast, but watch where you're going), just the right "feeling" of speed
night vision goggles=gimmick
grappling hook=gimmicky...until you know how to use it and you get in a good squad. then it opens up the game in sometimes unexpected ways.
zip line=ditto grappling hook
RPG-7=sorely missing in vBF2; i sometimes feel a little guilty about using it as a new newbtewb
SF is definitely worth getting. I spend almost no time in any vehicle and I love it. EF is all about vehicles. You won't believe the difference that the grappling hook and zip line make in creatively attacking bases...
I have SF and always seem to lag out in the beginning of my playing. When I start the game and join a server I usually spawn and go watch TV for like 5 minutes, then come back and everythings finished chugging and no more lag.
